While generally respectable herself - besides being illegitimate - some of her family members are a little more notorious.Residence: Slums, Hogsmeade. (It's not quite Pennyworth, but it's more comfortable than some houses in the slums.)
(Also she accidentally killed a man when she was nine.)
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Wand: Hazel, 9 1/4”, unicorn hair, whippy.
A sensitive wand, hazel often reflects its owner’s emotional state, and works best for a master who understands and can manage their own feelings. Others should be very careful handling a hazel wand if its owner has recently lost their temper, or suffered a serious disappointment, because the wand will absorb such energy and discharge it unpredictably.Blood Status: Halfblood

Appearance: 5'1" and dainty, Sarah has a thin, boyish frame, always making her look younger than she is - something she'd always hoped childbirth would change, if ever she became a mother. Otherwise, she has a lot of her mother in her, with wavy blonde hair and blue eyes. Her features aren't so pretty as Cassie's - she's always known it, for her face is all angles, with sharp cheekbones and thin lips; she almost looks like a different person when she smiles. She is left-handed for writing, though given her childhood catastrophe clutching a wand, she has always attempted magic with her right as her wand hand.
History:
1857 |Sarah is born to Freya Trelawney, an unmarried girl who slept with her childhood sweetheart. He did not go on to marry her, so Freya continued to live - comfortably enough - at her parents' home with her first child.
1858 | And her second; Freya, after a brief affair with another man, gives birth to another girl, Cassandra.
1862 | The same happens again but with a muggle man, and Miriam is born. Sarah's whole world is family, between her mother, grandparents, and her sisters. Especially her sisters.
1865 | Freya is pregnant once again - by Sarah's father, again - and eventually gives birth to Leopold. Sarah dotes on her brother, and still adores being with her sisters, though Cassie seems filled with unusual thoughts and dreams. Though she can't help her sister explain it, Sarah doesn't mind it in the slightest.
1866 | Freya gives birth to another girl - Abraham, after Abe's father - but Abraham Scott, whom Freya is set to marry, dies in an accident. And it's all Sarah's fault. She is nine, old enough to know better than to touch a very clearly broken wand - but she is nine, already thrilled at the prospect of being a witch, and getting to go to Hogwarts. She gets the sign she is waiting for, that she is magic, by the wand shooting sparks, and keeps waving it about. Abraham gets caught in the crossfire. Sarah barely understands what she has done. But it's the last straw for Freya's family, who disown them all, and Sarah is horribly aware of how their lives all change because of this; because of her.
1868 | Though now her mother is working desperately hard for them and Sarah expects she and Cassie and the rest of her siblings will be forced straight into work to help, her mother decides to send her to Hogwarts nonetheless. Sarah has lost all excitement for this since the accident, can barely bring herself to hold her wand. Still, she goes, and gets sorted into Hufflepuff. She is quite shy and soft-spoken and feels terribly out of her depth in classes, but is generally sweet and eventually breaks out of her shell, a little.
Cassie joins her at Hogwarts the next year, in Ravenclaw; Sarah continues on, begins to enjoy school more, all but the practical element of lessons. While practical spell-casting ought to be good for her, ought to make sure something like that never happens again, it makes her anxious enough that, more often than not, she freezes up. To make up for struggling there, she throws herself into book work, and safer classes like Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, or Astronomy. She isn't naturally clever, but she works hard.
1873 |Sarah leaves Hogwarts in May this year, receiving passing OWLs, for the most part (the OWL practical exams were the most worrying time of her whole schooling career). She starts off in domestic service; household charms are manageable, at least.
1876 |The family she works for moves abroad, and Sarah finds a position working in a shop.
1877 |The Trelawneys settle in Hogsmeade, and Sarah finds local work on the High Street.
1879 | Sarah, now twenty-two, has so far been wary of men: she is trying very hard to avoid her mother's mistakes. That said, she does fall for a Mr. Frederick Townsend, and while she resists his advances for awhile and will not go to bed with him, they are married by the end of the year.
1880 | The shop has to let go some of their employees, and so Sarah gets a job at the Ministry as a welcome witch. She had almost considered trying a career as a secretary, a few years ago, but now she is married and her husband the foremost breadwinner and she has never been ambitious, so she settles with the job as a welcome witch, thinking she will quit soon enough once they have children, anyway.
1882 | Sarah is quite happy with her life, she thinks. (Her mother seems to be too, though she is pregnant once again by another man.) Sarah, on the other hand, is not pregnant, though she longs to be.
1883 |Her mother's lover gets killed, Abe marries a middle class man, and then Freya, who has disappeared, is found and arrested, her child already dead. Sarah, naturally, is quite shaken from it all.
1884 | And then her mother is murdered. Freddie isn't as sympathetic about this as Sarah wishes he was.
1885 | Cassie - still unmarried - gives birth to a boy, Theodore. Sarah cares for her sister as intensely as ever and dotes on her nephew, despite people's muttering about them. Speaking of muttering, it is startlingly obvious that Sarah and Frederick are still childless, after six years of trying. They come to the conclusion that at least one of them is infertile. (It's her husband.) This strains an already faltering marriage, because Sarah wants nothing more than to be a mother. She and her husband continue to grow more distant.
1887 | By now, it is unspoken knowledge to her (and probably to her sisters, and the neighbours, too) that Frederick is sleeping around. He hasn't gotten anyone else pregnant, either, which only confirms her suspicions. Not that there is anything she can do about it, except stay, and hide her unhappiness.
Personality: Sarah is bubbly and sweet, for the most part. She has settled into her own life without much resistance, trying to make the best of it, though she has a tendency to romanticise situations and people rather than admit harsh truths to herself. She loves her family and friends dearly, and tends to be gentle and supportive, with a real maternal instinct that has nowhere else to be channelled. She is unfailingly patient in her job, and a bit of a pushover at home, getting upset more easily than she is able to get angry. She has a hard time saying no to people or being bluntly honest, though does stick to her principles as much as she can. She has grown a mile in confidence since she was a girl, but remains soft-spoken, a bit of a worrier, and still panics about spell-casting occasionally.
