February,

Perhaps we both need to stop jumping to conclusions. It's in my disposition to worry about others, and it's further aggravated when I care for someone.

It is also in my nature to assume the worst, and I suppose my experiences both in life and work have aggravated that. I apologize if you find those qualities to be nuisances, but neither are ones I can change.

If I express concern, it is never with the intent to undermine your ability to make decisions for yourself, but a projection of my own fears.

I would welcome a punch if it meant you were here.

Fondly,
E.

Edric,

It's extremely hard to stay mad at you when you're being reasonable did you know that? I would give quite a bit to be able to punch you in person right about now so I could make it up to you after.

Please don't apologize, I didn't realize there was something beyond the surface, I should have. I'm sorry I misunderstood and I don't find it to be a nuisance, not really. I guess I'll learn to accept the concern if you can learn to realize that I'm not just going to up and walk away after a spat. Not for more than a few minutes to collect myself enough to apologize. I'm hotheaded, I know that, you know that, but I am also loyal to a fault, I don't run away at the first sign of a little trouble.

I care a lot about you and knowing you're going on that expedition made me realize that, I think. Not being able to see you before you go makes me anxious, I won't lie, and that's why I snapped. I'm sorry. Please be careful.
Affectionately,
Febs

Febs,

From my experiences, loyal people are far and few between in this world; if you are as you say, I might just have to keep you.

For now, sleep, love. I'll write you in the morning.

Affectionately,
E.

early morning
Edric,

Good morning, apparently getting all riled up tired me out. I've stolen scones for you without Mrs. H knowing- or if she does she doesn't say anything. It's hard to tell sometimes. Lemon raspberry this time.

Haven't we already established I'm one of a kind? Loyal and oh so humble; definitely a keeper.

Do you have any details about this expedition yet?
Affectionately,
Febs

Febs,

Delicious. When I purchase my own home, I'm tempted to steal Mrs. Harding away for myself — beware.

And I promise, if I had a way to legal way to take you and bring you to London, I'd definitely keep you.

I'm not sure of many of the specifics, but I do know a number of aurors will be attending, as well as a number of healers. I suppose not everyone will be useless.

Affectionately,
E.

Edric,

You'll have to fight me for her! I would never willingly give up Mrs. H; if anything we're a package deal.

There's a very legal way to keep me in London, that doesn't involve kidnapping, just a few short vows and a pretty dress. (I'm teasing you.)

Well that eases some of my fears, though magic is still iffy over there, isn't it? I do hope it actually finds a resolution to this crazy situation, and quickly.
Affectionately,
Febs

Febs,

Well, I decided I was going to take her while I waited for your letter to arrive; I suppose I have no option but to take you along with her. Unfortunately, I'm not sure even an impromptu wedding could get you here.

Magic is still inhibited in the affected area, but hopefully certain professional, non-magical skills will be able to translate into the expedition.

Affectionately,
E.

Edric,

What a sad state of affairs this is, not even a wedding would suffice! I'm sure you could charm Mrs. H into getting your way however, a few charming smiles, some casual flattery, she'd bake you a cake if you asked.

I'm off to visit a friend down the street for the afternoon, I'm not going far, I promise. I'll write again later, I fear poor Ianthe needs a respite.
Affectionately,
Febs

Edric,

I hope they were nice thoughts. It was nice to get it for a little while, even if my mother insisted on shadowing my every move. Even when the fog lifts I'll never get to London with her like this. She's driving me to drink.

Hope you're having a better afternoon than I am.
Affectionately,
Febs

Febs,

I suppose I'll have to come get you once the fog dissipates, then, won't I? And I would strongly advise against drinking outside the comfort of your home, not because I don't trust you, but because I don't trust other men. While they might claim to be gentleman, there are many who would not hesitate to take advantage of a beautiful young woman who's lots her wits to alcohol.

This afternoon has been wonderful, if only because it's been uneventful. No reported fog-related deaths, no fog spreading — hopefully it stays that way.

Is there anything I could send you?

Affectionately,
E.

Edric,

I'd say I'm patiently waiting for that to happen, but I'm not very patient.

Rest assured, I never drink outside my room, not the good stuff anyway. I have a glass of champagne or two at events, but that's it. I know not every gentleman out there is as courteous as you are.

I'm glad to hear your afternoon had been uneventful, I suppose that's the best you could ask for at the moment.

I'm alright, thank you, have a new book from my friend to read. Unless you can box yourself up and come my way.
Affectionately,
Febs

Febs,

There are sadly laws on the book preventing me from sending myself through the post. Tell me more about this book, though: is it an interesting read so far?

Affectionately,
E.

Edric,

Are you sure? I feel like there has to be a way. Alas I'm doomed to be alone here in Hogsmeade! Even my best friend was stranded in London. I should have gone with her when I had the chance!

I may or may not have pulled Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's A Study in Scarlet from her shelf, which is a detective novel, since you may or may not have mentioned those in the past. So far I rather enjoy it, though I'm only  a few chapters in. It's quite intriguing, the characters are very clever. I'll likely finish it today, I'll let you know how it goes.
Affectionately,
Febs

Febs,

I'ms sure I could find a way into Hogsmeade, but seeing you would be nearly impossible if you're trapped inside your home. The only people who have been able to escape Hogsmeade thus far have been those who've suffered life-threatening injuries — and I certainly wouldn't advise putting yourself in harms way, nor do I believe you'd enjoy that.

I'm looking forward to a full book review once you've finished.

Affectionately,
E.

Edric,

If you could find a way in, I could find a way out. I have no intentions of getting myself injured enough to warrant a train ride to St. Mungo's however. As much as I would like to see you, that is not the way to do it.

I must admit I am hesitant to tempt fate a third time; I feel as though our luck will run out sooner or later. I would really like to see you before the expedition starts however. Whatever shall we do?
Affectionately,
Febs
