OLD CONNECTIONS | Socially, Nell kind of fell of the face of the earth whilst she was busy travelling it. She would have all but certainly lost touch with any friends in the decade+ since she left Hogwarts, though they may have heard bits and pieces of her travels from her siblings in the interim. It's probably about time to get reconnected! Looking for same house +/- a year, or same year in any house.

NEW COLLEAGUES | Nell will start working at Hogwarts in the fall; it would be nice for her to meet a couple of her new colleagues before then!

DEATH | Rightly or wrongly (I haven't decided yet!), Nell believes quite strongly that she has an approaching expiration date. Previously, she was okay-ish with that, but her sister's passing did not Thrill Her, and it is likely that she will become involved in looking at death more closely—dipping a toe to start, but who knows how aggressively she'll pursue it? This is where the dead-but-still-here, Spirit Division, Unspeakables, alchemists, etc. would have an inroad with her!

For the most part, I'm looking to established Mael IC as he didn't go to Hogwarts and isn't from a #FancyFamily. That said, there are some exceptions to this!

PAST CASES | Mael has been a detective since 1890 which, though not long in the grand scheme of things, has allowed him to drum up some interesting cases:

• THIS HOUSE IS HAUNTED! Mael was hired after representatives from the Spirit Divsion insisted that no, there were no ghosts or poltergeists in the house. What they missed? The husband of your housekeeper living within the walls.

THE IFFY ELEMENT | Mael has been "Blacklisted from a number of disreputable card circles for counting". In general, I'd like to establish connections with anyone who would a) be in London and b) be of questionable (at best!) repute. This also extends to those who live/work in Knockturn Alley.

INFORMANTS & THE LIKE | People relatively low on the totem pole that Mael can bribe. This would mostly be Ministry types or the Iffy Element above.

FUTURE CASES? | Some ideas I have for cases I'd like to play out~

• THE DAY THE MAGIC DIED! Your character comes to Mael, either because the Ministry doesn't believe them or they don't want it to become known. What is "it"? They've woken up without magic!

Hi hi! So, I only have Aurelian to offer you and the only two in his age range are Gideon and Maelstrom. I'm not sure what you're looking for for them, but I'm happy to brainstorm some ideas! And I do hope it's okay I joined your open for Mael. Aurelian needs friends and he's pretty friendly to everyone and was at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff - friendly both to older years and younger years. Oh, I don't know if it's at all a possible connection, but if there are any feminist events that have men as well as women, Aurelian would be there too so he maybe could meet Clementine. Oh look I have options!

For Clem there's Daff obviously, since she was on their tail at one point. She is momentarily stuck, so not of use at the moment, but in the future! I also have Alvin Bixby for a potential hurl? He's a bit of a mess, but does have Sloane for a sister so the feminism thing doesn't bother him.

I have Torie for Eudora, which I think we started in them as friends once upon a time?

Gideonnnn, Elsie is around as they would clearly know one another. Also there's Tabi still hanging out and no featuring her hilarious MJ complication haha

Oh Edward Flourish may be of use to you in the friend category - either for Aldous or Stan. He's 36yo MCHB, married with two young-Hogwarts-aged sons, runs Flourish & Blott's bookstore in London. Respectable and occasionally obsessive.

Margaret Clark is society-adjacent with Clem and Eudora - UCHB, just debuted, very invested in being the best at everything she does including being a debutante but doesn't feel any romantic or sexual attraction to men which does complicate the issue. Not that she's exactly figured that out yet.

Also possibly Thaddeus. Thad is a more subtle flavour of bigot and Aldous ticks his boxes of respectable friend material

Christabel is still unable to really go and socialise but she could encourage, albeit accidentaly, the worst rabble rousing traits in Clem and live vicariously for the next year through her!

I think Stan and Ned would be really well suited as friends, and if I've mathed this correctly, were only a year apart in Ravenclaw which is fabulous for access. I would be delighted to jot him down as a friend and open Stan up for whatever needs you may have <3 Re Alisdair, you took Dora's open thread And regarding Margaret, I'd like to thread her and Dora because I feel that regardless of whether or not they get on, it'll be entertaining!

Murdock — definitely friendly at work at the very least. How does his condition affect Murdock on the social scene? I also think Thad and Aldous could be superficially friendly. he definitely has Aldous' respect, but Aldous is Aware enough of social status not to be overly familiar. Regarding Christabel and Clem, is she likely to be at anything vaguely suffrage-y in the coming months?

As hinted in the Discord I do in fact want to thread everyone with Nell, so consider this my valiant effort to connect literally every character with her:

Getting the obvious out of the way: hurling. Guys in her age range are my specialty. It'd be faster to list the people I wouldn't hurl her with. I have people in the marriage market, people for emotional affairs, and people for no strings sex.

Ford in Spirit Division or Victor Daphnel the recently deceased are available for death pestering. Victor would be significantly less accommodating of curiosity (and therefore make for a better thread probably!)

Specifically of interest, perhaps: Ben Crouch also spent a good long while traveling, also worked with magical creatures for a few years and is generally good with animals, and is full of vague traumas that can make interactions more fun.

Kayteee<3 I have a few peeps I can throw at you, so let's see...

For Aldous, Timoleon Maxime although he's a giant rake, giant asshole, they probably wouldn't get along at all, so why not thread them lol. He's a werewolf, but he's obviously not tossing that secret around.

For Clem, I have Juniper Edevane, who is a year older than her, and has a lot to say on the marriage front/doesn't want to shut up and be a socialite when she gets married. I also have Reginald Alderton for a potential hurl. He's kind of awkward but he means well lol.

For Nell I have Gus Lissington who is obviously the DADA professor and they're the same age, so potential for them to have known each other at Hogwarts. Mason is his self-proclaimed best friend, so we should obviously do a group thread with them of them getting into trouble<3 Gus also has a niffler named Phil who terrorizes Hogwarts.

For Gideon, I can also offer up Gus as a friend, because he has a lot of ah... borrowed items from his time as a curse breaker (and his dad kept a lot. They just have a room full of items that could kill you lol). They are also similar enough in age that they overlapped at Hogwarts. Hurling wise, I have @"Zinnia Potts", who is 24 and very sweet. Works at the Florist Potts in Hogsmeade, but is also an artist. I imagine they would have overlapped on the art scene somehow. I also have Delilah Warbeck as fellow healer, but she is at St. Mungo's

Clifford Hillicker could have a few connections. He's currently (accidentally) groping Stan's sister at the flower show and may be forced into almost marrying her. I think he'd know Mael because they're the same age, and Cliff is a thief, so they could easily overlap through a crime he committed. He may also know Gwyn, based on elsewhere, and him owning a giant magical tree farm lol.

Murdock doesn't host anything in Greyback Reach, and hosts the bare minimum, but as he's a widower so it's not entirely unheard of. He does his social duty, and will be at all the ministry things he is meant to attend. He is sporadically missing enough to make any pattern of absence difficult to ascertain.

Thad would probably respect him more for keeping it formal. Would the Crouch patriarch have been purist enough to joined the pureblood masonic lodge? Since it's not like an overt muggle hate group or anything of that order. If so - then Thad might come to him about joining.

She enters half mourning now that June's over, so could attend a talk or lecture perhaps.

ALDOUS

Idk why we never have thrown him and Faustus together, but they're within a few years of each other, so yes. Also Faustus' wife has gotten kidnapped, so he'd likely come to Aldous for help in addition to calling in just about every favor he's stacked up throughout the years. xD I have Benedict who is also within his age range, and is normally more jovial, but since his breakup with Ari, he's been more depressed. Do with that info what you will!

EUDORA & CLEMENTINE

I have Adrienne! For Clem, at Hogwarts, Adrienne was always very nice to fellow year mates unless they gave her a reason not to. Clem might have found her odd for hanging out with Aristide? In terms of feminism, Adrienne is very much a "I'm for it, but I'm not going to shove it down people's throats" type of person, so in the event that Clem and her don't now each other too well and Clem comes on pretty strong, Adrienne would likely back away slowly. I'm down to chat more about Adrienne with these two though!

GIDEON

For hurls, I've got Mabel who's also a healer, just at St. Mungo's! Fellow Ravenclaw. I'm down for having any of my characters be a patient of his!! Could see Adrienne having issues, or perhaps Diana? Not that Gideon would know this, but he might get a lot of Agrimony's victims since he pawns off cursed objects. Those who would seek out help would be those who were unsuspecting victims. As for artists, I have Irene who's very involved in the artistic community, esp the theater community at Sophia Voss' theater!

I have Tilda - dragons, let's connect them/establish their relationship! Could also see Gwyn and Malice being friends!
