Happy(?) Accidents

Ah yess, Acid Pops indeed. No doubt leaving little marks on his floor right now. They were of course not actually damaging, the impact designed only to last long enough to give the person trying them for the first time a little surprise. Everything was back to normal in less than a few minute's time. Quin was probably one of few that actually liked the taste, but he'd always liked sour things. They still managed to sell enough, especially around April Fool's, for him to keep a small stock.

"Nonsense," Quin waved off the young man's offer to pay. "If you knew the sheer amount of things I knock off on a daily basis, you'd wonder how I have anything on the shelves to begin with." Between him and Billie's... exuberant sweeping, something was being cleaned up every day. "I'll take care of it, not a problem." He assured them again.

Her face made it especially clear that the young woman beside him was unhappy with his words, and he fidgeted under her gaze, feeling bad, but he wasn't brave enough to consider just saying he broke something and then leaving.

He was more surprised by Mr. Honeyduke's reaction, that it wasn't a big problem. Addison had been almost certain that he would have to do something, at least pay or maybe do some work on the side, to make up for it.

"Really?" Addison said, eyes wide, "You're sure?"

Clementine beamed at the Ravenclaw, not an I told you so in the conventional sense, but her smile very much had that sort of undercurrent to it.

"Of course he is sure!" the Hufflepuff protested brightly. "I hardly doubt Mr. Honeyduke would say so if he wasn't. You are very kind, Sir," she added, this directed at the shop's proprietor.

The dynamic of the duo before him had Quin chuckling quietly to himself. "Not a problem," He reassured the pair easily, moving back behind the counter once more to snag the broom from its spot. "I do appreciate your honesty." He added as he reappeared with the broom in hand.

"Nothing a little sweep can't fix." Though the acid pops might require a vanishing clean up, it would be hard to tell until he surveyed the damage, as it were. He passed the students a smile, thinking it would be better to do so sooner rather than later.

Addison glanced at the girl as she smiled at him. Not detecting the underlying tone of 'I told you so,' he simply smiled back, thinking she was pleased by their, or rather, his good fortune.

He focused back on Mr. Honeyduke, who had gathered a broom. "I could do that, sir, if you would like?" Addison asked, still wanting to make up for his mistake.

"We would not mind in the least," Clementine added, having attached herself firmly to this entire situation.

Quin waved them off easily. "Not necessary, it's your day off and you should go enjoy it. Hopefully you'll find a little something sweet to snack on before you go." He cast them a wide smile and moved off to take care of the little spill before anyone accidentally stepped on it.

Quin out, unless you still need him!

"Er...thanks, sir," Addison said as he faced the turned back of the shop owner. He almost pinched himself. Something had, for once, gone rather well. He smiled a little, then turned to his companion.

"You were right, I suppose. It was not all that bad," Addison shrugged, trying to be nonchalent, even if he was a little stunned that she was right about the situation.

She was often right, though even Clementine could see that was rather an ostentatious thing to say to so fresh an acquaintance. Instead, the Hufflepuff offered the Ravenclaw a smile.

"I am glad it worked out so well," Clementine returned. "Mr. Honeyduke is really a very understanding fellow—and now you can save your pocket change for Christmas!"

Addison nodded, and as he did so he eyed the display of Acid Pops again, now certain that his parents wouldn't really like them. Besides, he wasn't willing to even think about getting near them, just in case he knocked them over again and Mr. Honeyduke lost his patience.

"Excellent!" he said, rather pleased. He didn't have much more of an idea of what his parents or his sister might want for Christmas, but at least he still had time.
