Dahlia was mortified when she recieved the letter. She had written Mr. Foxwood - her former Transfiguration professor. Despite her own mortification she felt she rather owed him an apology for an inconvience, particularly because she had not been the most diligent of students last year. Not that she'd let on to that at all.
Looking at the letter she almost couldn't believe she had added the last few sentences, but she supposed she felt sorry for him. Someone most be worried about him to submit such an add. Besides, it had to be lonely up at the Castle as a teacher ... and even Dahlia had to admit that Mr. Foxwood was far from the ugliest man she had ever seen. So before she could overthink it, she tied the letter to the owl's leg and sent it.

February 20, 1892Dear Mr. Foxwood,
I sincerely apologize for the inconvience of my last letter. I do hope you will forgive my misstep.
That said, I find the topic of Transfiguration fascinating and should be happy to discourse upon the matter, should you wish.
Most sincerely,
DHP
