Semantics? As he passed her, she gave his back an incredulous, open-mouthed look. "They are completely different things!" she exclaimed, outraged. Her glance went to the ground at his motioning and her eye caught the object lying on the ground. Someone must have dropped it, she figured, as she leaned in for a closer look. It was a pretty little thing, decorated with elegant engravings. It likely had gone with an equally elegant chain.

"Someone must have dropped it." she said, for it certainly wasn't the little broach they gave out to guests at the ball.
