Like much of his family, Gideon is on the tall side, standing at 5 feet, 11½ inches in height. His is rather a lanky build as a result of this, topped with a wealth of dark hair; his eyes are a similar hue.

Try as he might, Gideon has not been able to grow a satisfactory beard (though he did, for a couple of months in '88, have a terrifyingly thin moustache), further highlighting his boyish looks. His smiles are small and soft but come easily, and when concentrating, his mouth manages to twist itself into weird expressions without him noticing.

At work, he favours simple clothing under his healer's robes—easy to move in, easy to mend, and of little consequence if they become damaged. Socially, he does at least attempt to follow fashion, if only so the other artists don't ask him why his painting is so nice when his clothes are so boring (it's happened). Gideon is ambidextrous.

Timeline

March, 1865	Lucky number...four? The first in a set of twins, Gideon is the fourth child born to the bustling Browne family. His sister, Odira, follows him within the hour, and the two spend their childhood markedly close.
1866-1875	His childoohood is...largely unremarkable, really. He learns, like most children, to walk and talk, to read and write; around nine, he makes his first display of magic; and the family is rounded out by the arrival of two more sisters, Loretta and Prudence. Elder siblings depart for Hogwarts and Gideon develops a keen curiosity about the world around him before it is time for he and Odira to join them.
Hogwarts: 1876 to 1883	Surprising approximately zero people, both of the twins are sorted into Ravenclaw upon their arrival at Hogwarts, the first—and last—of the siblings to do so. Though Gideon remains dedicated to learning, he also begins to explore his creative side, developing a passion for art. In his third year, he adds Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures to his course roster, and it is in the former that he meets the friends who will ultimately both form his first crushes—one male and one female. In fifth year, both twins are named prefect. Though his sister will go on to become head girl, the P badge is as high as Gideon climbs, which suits him fine.
1883	In May, Gideon completes his time at Hogwarts, and the summer reveals exceptional marks on his NEWTs that easily net him an internship a the local hospital. There, he begins training in the Artifact Incidents department.
1884	The Laughing Plague strikes and affects many, including Gideon. Most tragically, it claims the life of his eldest sister, Chastity.
1885	Odira is kidnapped(!!) by an escaped criminal, and for some months, Gideon expects the worst. Against all odds, she eventually finds her way to Irvingly and is returned home by Mr. Baxter Keene not long after—though not before he delivers her baby in the cemetery on Halloween. Her return is a cause for celebration, but not easy; the victim of a memory charm, she does not remember her family and, for the first time, Gideon finds himself a stranger to his closest friend.
1886 - 1890	The years wear on. Odira and Gideon never quite regain the easy relationship they had before, but he grows to see her new husband, Baxter Keene, as a good friend. Calliope, too, remarries (Cosmo and Gideon are not good friends, though he supposes he is glad his sister is happy?) leaving Loretta the only daughter with whom their mother need concern her matchmaking efforts. Mercifully, Gideon's young age and long hours at the hospital shield him from her scrutiny, at least for now. Instead, he spends his time developing his skills in many areas. He starts researching muggle forms of healing, achieves his animagus form, and continues working on his skills in sketching and painting. With a new decade on the horizon, he tries not to worry too much about what's to come.
