Slight of figure, Eleanore stands at five feet and two inches. She has a feminine look to her, with long chestnut hair and deep brown eyes framed with dark lashes. Her complexion is fair, with a smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks that her mother always urges her to cover up. She flushes easily. Her clothing frequently shows evidence of mending, and she usually will re-wear dresses with only mild alterations. She prefers creams and pinks for her clothing, though she can tend to browns and deep blues in the cooler months. Eleanore favors her left hand for spellcasting.
History:
Eleanore was born second to a pureblood family. She and her sister were raised well, but with little wealth to spare - though her family has an old London name, they no longer have the income to match. With a father whose only income was off of his odd curse-breaking jobs and a mother who refused to take on extra work, there wasn't much to do, and the stubbornness of her parents was only detrimental to the situation. In her fourth year, her family's home had dwindled to one (underpaid) maid - though she Lillith and Eleanore were able to pick up the slack with the help of a few charms, the damage to her parents' egos was irreversible. Now teetering on the brink of having to work herself, her mother puts pressure on the sisters to marry well, knowing that may be the only way to save the family's name.
Eleanore has a decent amount of magical talent, and an interest in her education. She has displayed proficiency in her O.W.L.S. and has a special affinity for Transfiguration. Her sister left Hogwarts after her O.W.L.S. to return to London in pursuit of a husband - while Eleanore chose to stay.
Personality:
HEADSTRONG -- LOYAL -- AVOIDANT -- IRRESPONSIBLE -- REBELLIOUSEleanore is headstrong and brash - she has a hard time biting her tongue, though she has plenty of training in manners. She's trusting and loyal, though she always puts her family first. Tends to be insecure of her financial status and avoidant of any inquiries on the matter. Has a good heart, but struggles to take responsibility for her actions. Willing to bend the rules to get where she wants.
Other:
Eleanore loves writing, and has writing samples prepared so she might apply to write a column at the Daily Prophet after her N.E.W.T.s. She also has a peculiar fondness for frogs and owls. Her patronus is a red fox.
Sample Roleplay Post: Eleanore cursed inwardly as the frog leaped from her skirt pocket, face frozen in a forced grin as she willed her mother not to look down at the offending creature. Emily was rambling about an advertisement she saw about a powder guaranteed to smooth wrinkles she saw at the marketplace - she simply had to have it, of course. Another waste of money, in Eleanore's mind, but she nodded serenely as the frog made its way across their kitchen, as if in spite. If she could just get her hand on her wand, maybe she could summon it back - her mother's head began to turn, and Eleanore jammed her hand into her pocket, feeling the reassurance of her wand handle just as Emily opened her mouth in a shriek. Eleanore dove to grab the creature just as her mother reached for it, wresting the thing from her grip before sprinting outside, hearing her mother's yells at her back. The frog had an unbothered look on its face - as though it was used to being yelled at - and as she slowed, it immediately leapt from her hands and disappeared into the undergrowth. "Fat lot of good you were." She muttered in its general direction, turning slowly to tread back towards the house.
