Spiritus Sancti
#1
ICYMI, I've invented a party drug—yay! Spiritus Sancti appeared on the scene late in the summer, and has followed roughly the following trajectory:

  • Brought from the contient by Elijah Urquart who introduced some Black's friends to it late in July
  • Permeated to a gentlemen's card evening by mid-August
  • First used at a vaguely respectable country house party in mid-September
  • Presently like Hamilton tickets: curiosity abound, very difficult to get, but definitely exists! Really only available to the UC for now (unless your other-classed character is invited to a party where it's in use)

It has not hit Hogwarts yet but I have plans to do so by month's end <3

WHAT DOES IT DO, YOU ASK?
Spiritus Sancti allows your spirit to leave your body, allowing you to travel the world as a ghost. However, doing so for more than 66 minutes or traveling further than 6.6 miles gives you a 50% chance of your body experiencing cardiac arrest, leaving you a ghost permanently. Of course, that's dreadfully specific—the only guidance Elijah actually brought back from the continent was "Keep it to an hour and don't wander far or you might actually die", so.

While under the affect of Spiritus Sancti, you do not have any corporeal form, and so can float through floors, walls, etc. and vaguely "teleport" to places you can picture well a la apparation without the splinching danger. Unlike proper ghosts, the feeling of touching and being touched by an Spiritus Sancti ghost is said by those who would actually talk about such things to be quite erotic.

After returning to your body, you still feel quite giddy and vaguely invincible for several hours. Elijah once walked straight into Rhine afterwards. #oops. It is strongly encouraged that someone not partaking be in charge of a) your bodies while you're gone—you won't have any awareness of them while you're "out"!—and b) making sure you make it to bed okay.

The experience is only addictive to thrill seekers at first, but habitual users will find difficulty sleeping and focusing without it after a period of a few months—difficulty that gets worse and worse over time.

HAVE FUN WITH DRUGS <3
