It was all going downhill incredibly quickly. Only moments before, Pen was finally beginning to make friends aside from her sister and the children that her parents hadn't placed in front of her and told to go play. Today was a disaster of master magnitude. She had told her father that something bad was coming. Was this it? No, that didn't feel right. Something worse loomed over Pen and she could only hope that her twin wasn't actually involved. She was torn with looming on the future and watching the present in horror. Pen was getting paler by the second.
She wished that she was braver. She wished that she was her twin. Or Autumn. Someone brave and selfless. Able to speak out and bluntly share her opinion on the matters. Speak up for herself when Miss Parkinson had been speaking ill and threatening her friend. Perhaps being a voice of reason like Tony. But she was neither. Instead, she curled in her seat and felt the tears rolling down her cheeks once more. Pen felt like a coward. Feeling the most hatred for herself than ever before.
