After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Another activity check come and gone! The list of inactive accounts has been compiled, with deactivations and list maintenance underway :) If you lost a character you'd like back, you may post in Maintenance starting Wednesday, February 5th. If you have no currently active characters you can post in maintenance immediately! If you lost a character before the AC, you can post there whenever you'd like!
Posting Wizard of the Month has rolled over! Fallin (Sisse Thompsett) was the outright winner this month with 98 posts, while Dante (Madeleine Backus) won in the "new/12+ months" category with 21 posts! This means that February will see myself, Bree, Kit, Lynn, Kelly, RSG, Finn, and Nichole in a posting battle TO THE DEATH. Enjoy!
Charming's ninth Site-Wide Plot continues this month! Indirect involvement is always available, and you can sign up for direct involvement (thus, a chance to snag the stamps!) through the end of February. Keep your eyes peeled on the SWP thread and lonely threads—some of your fellow Charmers may need some help and/or background characters in their adventures!
And some reminders before you disappear into the ether!
All players are reminded to please tag their threads with O, P, S, or R! This helps to show your fellow Charmers whether or not the thread is ripe for the taking, and avoids potential issues :)

After a bit of poking around in the Admin Panel, I've got it all set up so that you can like posts in our archive forums (excluding competitions and Dead Threads). Go forth, relive the memories, and give your fellow Charmers some love~
All of your characters have been listed in the Character Directory—check back on your entries to make sure they were processed properly! Anyone reactivated this month will need to be placed back on.

If all of the above are squared away, there should be no reason for you to fall inactive in the upcoming check! To our new members: the AC requires no work on your part. The staff team simply makes sure the above is seen to!
Good morning, some fool in Florida has tried to travel centuries into the past and has screwed up time for the rest of the world! While the worst affected people were those in direct contact with the man, travelling that far back in time has much wider implications. Even in Britain, this "butterfly effect" might have changed small details in the timeline here and there. Maybe your character wakes up with a surprise pet dog, one they have apparently always had. Maybe something has disappeared or was never built. I don't know, maybe you want to retcon their middle name.
Other fun for the day, as a result of the disruption to time: Friday 28th will last the length of 48 hours, or two days rather than one. Time will resume as normal on Sunday 1st March. Characters might also face minor disturbances with the speed of time, such as:
Watch your friends basically turn into statues around you!
Win a race because your side of the street is moving faster than the other!
Baywatch moments in the park!
Fall out of a fourth-floor window and remain unscathed because you fall so terribly slowly. Or DIE because you fall so much quicker than usual!
Marvel at how much or little extra reading you can get done!
