Other: There's really not much to say about how Florian dresses, other than he just sort of wears whatever his mother picks out for him. His clothes are generally very neat and clean, but sometimes they can get a little messy after he's been playing with the animals or in the greenhouse, but otherwise, he does try to keep a tidier appearance. He has thin, dainty fingers that are often smudged with ink because he sketches and writes a lot in his journal, and he's fairly pale because he tends to prefer to sit in the shade than in the sun. He smells very floral, and light, much like a girl. In fact, there's a certain feminine softness that Florian carries with him as he presents himself.
History:
Pre-1878 - Miss Juniper or June, as she was commonly known was born to a rather strict upper class, pureblood family in London, England, and at the start of her life, she really wanted for nothing. But as she got older, it became more and more clear that she wasn't able to produce the magic that they wanted her to, which caused the family to treat her as an embarrassment. This resentment for her only got worse as her would-be first year came and went and within a year or so she was thrown out of the house, and burned off the family tree. June found herself bouncing around from job to job - sometimes she worked as a maid, other times she'd tutor younger girls in the little education she managed to get, and in the better years sometimes she had older working-class women to guide her, but ultimately she had to raise herself. She found herself a job working as the maid who swept the flower shop and that's when she met Mr. Ashton Branwell, a middle-class muggle who fell in love with her, as he was a botanist and came in all the time. Eventually, he shrugged off society's expectations and married her, not really caring if she insisted she was an orphan and that he could find better. It wasn't hard to believe, after all, June's family moved to the newly opened Hogsmeade to be in a wizard-only community and were never around the muggle world where June and Mr. Branwell lived.
1878 - Florian was born to June and Ashton Branwell in the Spring.
1880 - Hints of Florian's magical nature began to show, with little things that he managed to accomplish, even at his young age. June was startled by it, as she believed if she was a Squib and her husband was a Muggle that perhaps they would not have a magical child. She began to deny it, and chalk most of it up to just a coincidence because if he turned out to be a wizard, she'd have to explain her estranged family.
1885 - It was now impossible for June to just keep pretending she wasn't seeing the magic within Florian. He was a soft child, scared easily, and tended to spend most of the time either hiding in her skirts or playing in the greenhouse where his father worked and every time he got scared something would happen, seeds sprouted too early, flowers changed color, he somehow got faster or bouncier when he ran. She knew that within a few years Hogwarts would be expecting his attendance and she had to figure out how to have this talk with Ashton without seeming completely mad. So, she sucked up her pride and went to the Ministry Headquarters and found someone at the Muggle Liaison office who was willing to help her because she didn't trust being able to do it herself without him having her committed to a hospital. With the liaison's help, she was able to explain to her husband what was wrong with her child and for a while, he did believe she was mad, but eventually, he started to believe her when she began to point out all the magical things that Florian had been capable of so far that he just brushed off as a weird happenstance. Once he came around, Ashton worried about how this would look to other Muggles so he had Florian pulled from school and tutored and stopped having him visit his Muggle relatives so much; at least until he was trained to control himself.
1889 - Florian starts his first year at Hogwarts, and though he knows now he is a Halfblood, honestly he feels as unprepared as any Muggleborn student. He's sorted into Hufflepuff and finds his favorite subjects are Herbology and Transfiguration, which he seems to do the best in. Still, he's a shy kid and really didn't make friends, mostly because he's known to be a bit of a crybaby and he begins to experience panic attacks when he gets overwhelmed with things like talking in class or trying to perform magic he isn't good at in front of people. He spends most of his time sitting in empty corridors or spots alone next to trees writing in a little journal he has, observing flowers and plants, or watching the magical creatures brought for the older students in Care of Magical Creatures from afar. His only friend seems to be the snowy owl that his mother bought him to cheer him up when he insisted he didn't want to go away to school, and she's named Edelweiss.
1890 - Somehow Florian's existence and first year flew to the ears of his estranged maternal family and soon enough, the Branwell family was flooded with owls demanding to meet the little boy. Of course, June tossed out every single one, not wanting to put Florian through that, as she knew that they would somehow, someway, figure out a way to erase Florian's father to remove the stain of a Muggle on the family tree. Or even if they somehow got past that, they would turn Florian from the soft, sweetheart he was into the kind of man she wouldn't recognize as they did to her siblings. Florian didn't understand what was going on with that, but at least he was able to visit his paternal family again, now that he knew how to better control his magic and act like a normal muggle. He started his second year at Hogwarts and not much was different, other than he had a weird suspicion that his estranged family was keeping an eye on him regardless of his mother's thoughts.
1891 - Once again, the summer was met with more letters, this time June wrote back scathing letters explaining she was not ever going to let them meet Florian and they needed to stop. Florian couldn't help but grow more curious, even secretly wanting to know what they were like, but he, of course, wouldn't tell his mother that or she might actually explode. In his third year, he excitedly added Care of Magical Creatures and Earth Magic to his lesson pile. He found out that he rather preferred animals to humans, and he spent most of his time either in the greenhouses helping out the Herbology Professor or seeing if he could help the Groundskeeper with the animals. But, he also found a strong interest in Transfiguration and decided one day he was going to learn to be an animagus so he could become an animal whenever he liked.
1892 - Florian finishes his third year of Hogwarts and is ready for the summer!
