Character Ideas I Shouldn't Make

Obviously I would thread the hell out of this character with Ford. #ghostdebftw

When she gets too obnoxious Spirit Div can threaten to confine her to where she died (aka the Voyager) and Alfred can have some very affronted threads with her before it gets sorted out.

What I'm saying is I want it, please gimme

MJ made the most Alfredy of sets and then two years later she made it EVEN BETTER

Combine with an anxious, or spineless family who doted on her and keep behaving as though she is still alive - hiring dress makers, hiring her a maid/chaperone, throwing her a coming out ball, organising parties and events for her season, paying someone to be a companion for her.

A muggle man who reacted poorly after discovering his wife is a witch (possibly when a child also turns out to be one) regrets his decision and tries to find her to apologize but is constantly blocked by the fact that his a muggle and she's in Hogsmeade/a witch.

Also every now and then I create random brainstorm/adaptions and this is a random list I found...

STORIES BY BROTHERS GRIMM
Puss in Boots - a man of the Working Classes, with the help of one of his friends, scams an heiress and her family into thinking that he is of far better origins than he really is by using magic to take control of a muggle family, their home and belongings.

The Seven Crows - a maiden discovers she has siblings that shes never met because of the unintentional actions of her father and makes it her mission to reunite her family and “break” the curse.

The Frog Prince
an animagi uses his magical self to get close to a upper class girl [and meets a sticky end after being thrown against a wall] [scandalises the girl and forces an impromptu marriage after spending the night in her quarters]
a man is turned into a frog by either a scheming brother/stepmother who wishes to take his inheritance and a helpful girl breaks his curse.
A man is turned into a frog by his father/other relative after his sexuality is discovered in order for the family to avoid scandal
An animagi who fears death if he takes his human form hides himself as a frog and comes to the assistance of a young girl and saves her from a bad situation/ comes to fall in love with her.

Little Brother and Little Sister
A man is deceived when his wife is held hostage by jealous former acquaintances of hers who use polyjuice to take her place.

Old Mother Frost
An old widow with two daughters, of her own and one her husbands, treats her stepdaughter like a maid are tested by an old woman and cursed/rewarded based on their actions.

Rumplestiltskin
A Muggleborn lands in hot water when her overly proud father brags to neighbours that shes’ a witch and they get the idea that she can make them rich and turn straw into gold. Help comes from an unexpected source (perhaps a hasty retreat and leprechaun gold?)
alternatively, a muggle father sends his daughter off to hogwarts thinking she can make him rich with magic and after he is disappointed to learn otherwise tries to force her to make him rich with other types of magic and by practically selling her off. Her freedom rests on the life of her first born child.

King thrushbeard
A proud and haughty debutante whose believed that no suiter was good enough for her and makes fun of all is forced by her father to marry whom ever next came a calling - and is deceived into thinking she is forced to marry a man of the working classes and is forced to work for a living until she eats humble pie and repents her insults.

Briar Rose
A woman attracts the ire of a practitioner of the dark arts/hag and is drugged with the draught of everlasting death.
A family attracts the ire of a practitioner of the dark arts/hag and at a party the punch is spiked with the draught of everlasting death.

Hansel and Gretel
After a starving and destitute couple successfully abandon their children in the woods the children must find a way to survive against the hungry hag who had taken up residence there.

Cinderella.
After her father remarries he seems to show no care for his biological daughter, instead showering his new wife and their children with all the affection and allowing them to treat Cinderella like a virtual slave in her own home. She is kept from all opportunities including Hogwarts, and every ball and party and kept so removed from society due to rumours of sickness that most would even forget that she exists - until of course on the eve of a party a sympathetic witch plays fairy godmother and sponsor and whisks her away to the party where she inadvertently wins the heart and affections of a man before she flees at risk of being exposed and he must in turn seek her… with scant clues.

Snow-White
Wealthy, but orphaned Snow-White flees her own home and takes refuge in the most unlikely of places when her step-mothers attentions turn fatal.
Her step-mother and guardian wish to either put her on ice or permanently out of the way to get their hands on her inheritance and do with it as they wish
Having re-entered the marriage market at the same time as her step-daughter she cannot stand the competition with a much younger, wealthier and objectively more attractive woman especially when a suitor she had desired sets his eyes on Snow White.[this story could also be a stepmother scenario when instead of actual death the stepmother seeks to ruin snow whites reputation completely aka social death].

Rapunzel
A barren witch realises that the starving couple next door have a magical child and take her off their hands when it all gets too much for them… attached to the child but from a purist family she raises the girl alone in the woods/countryside and forbids her from going out fearing from the repercussions of her own family (or husband), afraid of the muggles and intends to raise her away from the cruelities of the world and everything until something goes pear shaped…
A werewolf attack on Rapunzel as a young child leaves her orphaned and in the care of a guardian who keeps her locked away from the world for the safety of herself and others and alone until…
The only child of a witch who had gone through too much Rapunzel is raised locked away from the world and solitary until her song bird voice lures in an unsuspecting suitor….

Little Redcap

On the way to visit her grand-mothers Little Red Cap is found by a boggart or a hag.

The Real Princess.

A Pureblooded family refuse to let anybody with mediocre blood marry into their family and put all prospective wives through various “tests”
A woman seeking to marry into a pureblooded family fabricates her own blood heritage.

The Snow Queen
When Gerda’s true love is lured away by the frosty snow queen she is convinced dark magic is involved - and indeed it is: Kay has been bewitched by a love potion/imperious’d however trying to prove that to others is a very different story.

The Emperors’ New Clothes
A Wealthy fashion forward man is convinced by a scam artist that his outfit is the height of fashion - and that if he cannot see it he is simply not clever enough to do so because it is spelled in such a way… however it is not just he who is deceived as all not wanting to appear stupid or unfashionable agree until a very small boy points out the very obvious.
A very ridiculous fashion trend takes over Hogsmeade thanks to two swindles and no kdy will admit it's a tad… silly

The Ugly Duckling
Mocked, bullied, and called ugly by her schoolmates “Swan” emerges for the season a changed woman and barely recognisably by her rivals…
PART TWO - with an agenda to take revenge on all who mistreated her.

SHAKESPEARE
Romeo and Juliet
Two rival families’s (possibility: even two MC or LC business families with rival companies - or even progressive vs. pure vs. traditional) offspring fall in love and without their families knowledge elope at gretna green and a comedy of errors makes revealing such a thing almost impossible.

Much Ado About Nothing
Having never gotten along, eternal bachelor Benedict and Beatrice are forced into continued contact when Benedict’s best friend and Beatrice’s cousin are engaged to marry. His best friend, Claudio and her cousin, Hero, bored with the length of time of their engagement come up with a plan to matchmake the two and go to lengths to have the two convinced that the other is unrequitedly inlove with the other which they both react to pleasantly… Meanwhile Don Pedro’s brother seeks to humiliate his brother’s friend and Claudio and his father-in-law to be’ wedding by making him believe that Hero is unfaithful and having fallen for the ploy Don Pedro denounces her in public and scandal unravels till the truth is revealed.

The Taming of the Shrew / 10 Things

When Katherina goes for another season without any suitors due to her rather abrupt ways Bianca fears that her own chances of marriage are withering away and engages a would be suitor to help her marry her off so that Bianca herself can make an advantageous match… he does so by arranging for another prospective suitor to pay for a suitor for Katherina and so begins the web of lies.

And because I recently read a list showing how often McKenna Grace has been used as a younger version of so many characters and pulled it off:

A young connartist (possibly with adult backing) who approaches men to convince them that they are their illegitimate daughter to estort them for money before disappearing and repeating the act.

Make it extra soap-opera-y by having one of the men she cons actually end up being her biological father.

Today's random idea: A working class character is blames their poor employment/unemployment on house elves and attempts to begin a crusade against them (whether or not people pay them any mind is up to you) - think peoples reactions to the ris of machines and automation.

Protests, letters to the ministry and department of beings, spirits and beasts and trying to stir up animosity against them. Perhaps attempting to interfere with their work or handing out free socks or tricking people into releasing themm or attempting to do violence against them or kill them.... Or the reverse Attempts to seem like a house elf sympathiser so they gain freedom/wages so that they as an alternative seems like a better employee. Idek the idea came from people ranting about the self-check out on Facebook.

A family/couple truly believe the end of the world is coming so they live every day by checking things off a bucket list/living very freely no matter the consequences since they believe everyone will soon die anyway.

In some mc/uc family, it’s tradition for the eldest unmarried daughters to form a quartet/trio/whatever and play a concert every year for society…even though they are all awful at music.

So messing around with leap years and technicalities around birthdays was a common trope in Victorian comedies - given that Hogwarts letters and prohibitions on underage wizardry are based on birthdays:

A character who was born on the 29th of February 1852 who only reaches his 11th birthday in 1892 and can only then legally be issued with his wand, gets his Hogwarts letter etc. Or the ministry has CONSTANT problems with the spells that notify them of 'accidental' or underage magic triggering every time he casts a spell, because he's still technically underage - despite the fact he's seen 44 rotations of the sun!

AND/or he can't get his inheritance because it says he must wait until his 18th birthday, which isn't 'technically' until like 1920, when he's 72 and he's salty about it.

The Hogsmeade Blacksmith who somehow ends up the cobbler for the Centaur community and is begrudgingly the go-between between the Ministry and centaurs because he is the only one both trust - inspired by this painting.

Because I'm clucky but babies are a bad idea for me rn (A friend of mine had a stray give birth to kittens recently so I'll get my baby hit when I sneak two I mean one of them into my house) but until then- one of the three Sanditon Female Sirens is desperate for a baby.... Too bad the only available male isn't maid inclined.

Que possible Sanditon hijinks of attempting to flirt, woo and barter (because who needs a man once the deed is done) with Kits poor man (sorry Kit. Didn't even ask if you want chaos but hence it's an idea...) And followed by potentially more chaotic attempts to adopt young of other species including humans but not excluding say seals, dolphins... birds .... Otters... Fish... (Turtles? Are there turtles that high up? I may need to learn more about English sealife. Don't judge me I grew up on the Barrier Reef and that's pretty much Finding Nemo)

Liliana wanted to watch 101 Dalmatians so...

"Anita" has recently married for love leaving her old rather eccentric school friend rather disgruntled with the match. Anita is left trying to juggle the fact that her good friend and her husband really don't get along and are constantly bickering and sending barbed insults at each other.

However when a kidnapping or other crime ups the ante (Cruella may or may not be innocent but Roger insists that she's guilty and must be investigated multiple times) it starts put friction on the relationship.

Alternatively something for the ministry: a person's love of rarities/fur has her kidnapping rare species/pets/endangered animals.

An wizened old (really old) lady who wanders around Hogsmeade, particularly High Street, randomly muttering and handing people homemade charms that everyone thinks is either senile or crazy and is a fixture of Hogsmeade since at least 77 is not earlier.

A seer who names their child after the child's star sign (the most ideal would be a girl named Virgo, but I'm up for anything).
