Appearance: Breccan is a tall young man who appears rather thin, though he is certainly muscled as well. He is right-handed though able to do most athletic or physical tasks with his left as well, with the exception of writing. His clothes are second hand, and occasionally he wears clothing that belonged to his father as a young man, which means its rather out of fashion by the time Breccan wears it. He owns two cleaner and newer outfits, one for Sundays and one for attending events he is invited to.
History:
1868: Breccan is born the first child and first son of Thomas and Keeva MacRae, in Ireland.
1870: Breccan is followed up by sister Treasa late in the year. As a two year old, he is a little excited but ultimately does not make much of her.
1874: Breccan's second sister, Sorcha, is born. Now that he's old enough to understand (more or less) why that's exciting, he's pretty satisfied about playing the older brother role
1875: Finally, a brother! Flann is born.
1878: Breccan's sister, Alina, is born and the family moves to London. Breccan, staying up past bedtime, hears why they moved: a troll attacked his uncle, and the rest of the family blamed his father, and they all left to avoid the shame. In London, the children who are able to begin street-peddling to earn money, saving what they can for education.
1879-1880: Breccan's sister, Page, is born, but he isn't around to see most of her first year of life because he begins his Hogwarts schooling and is sorted into Hufflepuff. His first year goes well enough and he is encouraged to continue, at least, for now.
1880-1881: Breccan's second year at Hogwarts goes much like the first, though he is keenly aware now that every year he is in attendance is less income for his family.
1881-1882: Breccan's third and final year at Hogwarts. In September, Treasa will be going to Hogwarts and Breccan will stay home to street-peddle and work at the same factory that his father does.
1883: Treasa finishes her first year, though it becomes clear that she will not be attending a second. Petra is born, and given a rather un-English name, though after Page it is expected.
1884: Another brother, Reynold, is born.
1885: Breccan becomes the first child in his family to step away from the factory and begins work at Ollivander's Wands; Hogsmeade, travelling by Floo, though he continues to live at home and earn money to support his family, and he does start additional savings for his own family one day. Meanwhile, Sorcha goes to school.
1886: Esmeralda is born, and remains the youngest, at least, for now.
1887: The Blishwick School opens. Breccan does not have any strong wish to attend, as he is satisfied with his job as a shop worker, but Treasa does attend.
1888: Treasa gets married, and Flann begins attending the Blishwick School.
1890: Alina and Page head off for their first year at Hogwarts.
1891: Breccan anticipates the coming year. He is about the age his father was when he had him, so he is concerned about not being as good a man as his father is.
Personality: Breccan is hard-working and loyal, as expected of most Hufflepuffs. He is private about his family, though openly friendly with people at his level or that he works with. He has a good memory, and is excellent with physical tasks. He tries to keep good morals that belong with his Catholic faith, and is usually both polite and kind. He is typically unfamiliar with the worlds of the upper class, with the exception that he's quite knowledgeable about brooms. Around women, he tries to be kind, and recently has been considering searching for a wife. He is generally up for a round of drinks, though he believes moderation is key. He has a fear of trolls due to an accident in which his uncle died, though he keeps this a secret.
