Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin
Ned was intimately familiar with calming draughts. He'd helped his mother brew many for his sister. It had also been his go-to this year for overly emotional first years who missed home. He was a bit relieved that they were to begin with something he knew fairly well.
He peered across the room and caught Sisse's eye, giving her an encouraging grin before setting about calmly and carefully brewing the potion until it took on that familiar blue color.
With Headmaster Black serving as their judge, Elijah was a shoo-in! Probably. Maybe.
He decided he best do a good job, just in case.
With practiced hand, the Slytherin set about concocting the potion that they had learned in third year. As he truly got into the work, Elijah found he focused less on those around him and more on the task at hand. When finished, it took him a moment to transition back.

Joella largely ignored the others around her as she set about brewing her potion. She was no star talent at it but she was not a dunce, either. She worked methodically and it was not long until she had finished.
A potions competition. Maxie did feel the nerves rush through her. A calming draught sounded perfect right about now. But she would need to work with slow, deep breaths instead. She focused on the potions, mentally reciting the ingredients in her head as a way to further calm her nerves and help her concentrate.
A calming draught, Sisse noted with an internal smile. Potions may not come naturally to her, but she had always practiced and studied for the course and her mother had her help at home and as luck would have it the calming draught was one of her mother's favorite potions.
After three years of potions competitions Sisse hardly felt nervous at all, that was until Ned smiled at her. Her stomach fluttered but she smiled back and then turned her attention to the potion before her. It would do no good to be distracted. With care prosise movements Sisse began the process.
Ned seemed pleased with his success, but he was most proud of Sisse whom he shot a warm smile. He didn't know Miss Goshawk terribly well, but she seemed to at least be the non-streasful type of competition so the Moony boy was rather content.
It seemed a shrinking solution would be next. He juices and chopped his ingredients carefully and took care to stir at the appropriate speed.
When it came near the completion of his potion, Ned added a dash of cowbane, heated his cauldron to a higher temperature, and cast the needed shrinking charm. Once done, he took a step back and waited.
It seemed Mr. Moony was in a category all to himself today as the remaining ladies could not get themselves together enough to present much of anything.
"That concludes the round." He announced with little fanfare.
