Appearance: Woopy stands with a fairly prominent slouch though his full height is a meagre two foot and eight inches; his ears droop downward and he is missing his index finger on his right hand from an earlier accident in his life.
His large blue eyes always seem fed up and he can often be seen mumbling to himself and scratching at his arms were he to do something wrong.
Lash marks are prominent on his back were you to see beneath the tea-towel (with the Hogwarts emblem etched onto it) he wears as a toga.
He doesn't own a wand though often holds them, should he get his hands on one (or a quill) in his left hand.
History: Woopy was born in secret to a pair of House Elves owned by an upper class pureblooded family in the winter of 1774. He was kept locked away in the attic of a house for the first ten years of his life, hardly seeing his parents (whom Woopy had only heard being referred to collectively as 'Elf') before his master found him which, to no surprise, resulted in Woopy being sold to the highest bidder for a bit of easy money.
Now ten and living with a rather distasteful wizard, Woopy learned what it was to be a House-Elf and despite his mistreatment, he came to enjoy working with his new master and had become very loyal.
Another eighty years passed and Woopy had become subjected to various lashings and punishments for misdeeds (though one could argue no misdeeds were done and his master simply wanted an excuse to beat his elf). This treatment ultimately led to Woopy's disdain for the general Wizarding population - though he would remain loyal to any who took him in.
In 1857, Woopy's master fell upon illness in his old age and the elf found himself looking for a new master.
It was in the year of 1863 when Woopy first entered Hogwarts and was taken in as a servant for the school. His jobs entailed helping to prepare meals as well as general upkeep of the castle cleaning. He quickly came to enjoy his position.
His name was given to him by another elf after Woopy sarcastically exclaimed 'woopie' in response to being told to clean the Slytherin dormitory.
In 1866, a mishap involving a misplaced kitchen knife resulted in Woopy losing a finger.
He remains in Hogwarts serving as a loyal worker to this day though his loyalty lies with the castle itself and the staff; the students, Woopy has come to realise, aren't often nice and he has no interest in helping them beyond his required duties.
