History:
1861: Hudson is born to Andrew and Amelia Woodcroft in London. He is a coalicy baby who causes the young parents to hardly ever get sleep for the first year.
1865: Four year old Hudson throws a temper tantrum, no one remembers the reason, but it results in him setting the kitchen table on fire - his first sign of magic.
1867: Little Pauline is born. Hudson is not sure how he feels about this little upstart. He quickly determines she is boring. Also this is the year his lessons begin.
1870: As if one little sister weren’t bad enough, Hudson, who has longed for a younger brother is greeted by little Emmeline. She’s such a happy creature that the nine year old is actually enchanted by the little girl - but only a little.
1872-73: Hudson is set to Hogwarts, his parents purchase him an owl who he names Excalibur. He is sorted into Slytherin.
1873-74: Hudson’s second year passes without incident. He is a rather successful student.
1874-75: Hudson’s third year he adds earth magic and muggle studies . When school ends the Woodcroft family hears that grandfather has died. Their father packs them up from their home in London and moves them to the small quiet town of Hogsmeade. Hudson thinks the town is boring but knows that inherited Three Broomsticks will one day become his job. He takes pride in helping with the settlement and trying to adjust to their new life. Little Emmeline is much less disinclined toward the move and throws a temper tantrum that displays her first sign of magic.
1875-76: Fourth year is rather unremarkable, Hudson enjoys school and continues to excel. In part because he’d rather like his parents to keep him in school.
1876-77: OWLs arrive. Hudson focuses on his studies, anxious about the exams. He hates failure and even puts effort into courses he doesn’t particularly care for.
The great rush to Hogsmeade begins during the summer. Hudson is excited to finally see people in the small boring down. That is until Andrew gambles away The Three Broomsticks and Hudson feels as if his future has just been tossed away. He never looks at his father the same way again. Knowing that his future is up to him Hudson changes his course of study to include harder NEWTS to work in the ministry. If his inheritance is gone he might as well do the next best thing and become an auror.
1877-78: Sixth year passes with renewed vigor in his studies now that he knows his new goal. He drops courses unrelated to his goal. Summer following his sixth year Hudson and his father get into a huge row about what Hudson should do with his life. He vows to never return home after he graduates.
1878-1879: Hudson is glad to get away from home for his final year at Hogwarts. Pauline joins him at Hogwarts. He has little interaction with her. He’s so close to his goal he can feel it. He throws himself into his school work and focuses on his NEWTS.

1884: Emmy gets the plague and the whole family is brought together in worry. Hudson spends many of his weekends reading to his little sister. She finally gets better but Hudson continues to come around until the end of the summer to make sure she is okay.
1885: The final straw is broken when Hudson and his father get into a huge row about how Hudson is living his life. Hudson stops returning home to see his family. Other than the letters from Emmy and an occasional pleading letter from his mother he has next to no contact with his family.

Sample Roleplay Post:
It was rainy again today. Like any good Londoner Hudson ignored it as he made his way down the sidewalk of the rocky cobblestone streets of London. He hunched his shoulders slightly as if the brim of his hat could keep the rain from reaching his coat, a fruitless task if there ever was one. People passed, pushing with grimaces, on their way, as if the rain they refused to acknowledge really was the reason for their foul mood. Hudson ignored them as much as he ignored the rain. He didn’t need their problems, he had enough of his own. What he did need was a good stiff drink. He could spare a few of his precious coin for a good draft of beer, or even firewhiskey with the day he’d had.
The rain had turned into a complete downpour when Hudson made it to the Augery Pub. The dim interior greeted him as he shook off the rain from his coat and removed his hat, swiping at the brim and spraying droplets of water onto the dingy floor. The pub might not look like much, but its warm fire beckoned to Hudson, and it did little to remind him of the Three Broomsticks that alone was enough to make his fondness for such a place grow. He tossed himself onto a bench by the bar and ordered his regular, keeping to himself as the evening crowd made themselves comfortable in the dim rowdy domain of the pub.
