Appearance: Petite and proud of it, Orinda stands at 5 foot even. She’s thin like her sister and boasts the same bright red hair. Her eyes are green instead of blue and has the same exaggerated canines as befits her half-vampire status. She is right handed with her writing and wand work. While her sister likes blue to match her eyes, Orinda prefers green. She likes to wear silk when they can afford it and often wears the same thing for days on end because she doesn’t want to change what she’s wearing. As such she goes through clothes a little quicker than most and has to be persuaded to change her apparel by her family often.
History:
1869: Her mother and father met while her father was traveling.
1870: Despite Lisa being a vampire, they fell in love and got married. It was hard for their relationship in public when she finds out she’s pregnant with her first child, Acacia who was born in 1871.
1871: Acacia was born and the family is living in London.
1872: Her older sister, Chrysanta is born. The birth was relatively easy so it wasn’t hard for the vampiress to birth her as well.
1874: Orinda is born. As the third child, Orinda is often paid attention to closely, since she was bright and precocious.
1876: Dunstan was born, and Lisa ends up leaving them after a fight that almost resulted in Martin’s death.
1877: As the wizarding families were exiled, Martin takes Orinda and her siblings to the safety of Hogsmeade.
1882: Orinda shows her first sign of magic, blowing the curtains open in her nursery when the windows are shut.
1886: Orinda attends Hogwarts for the first time, getting Sorted into Ravenclaw.
1887: The half-breed ban is implemented and Acacia, Orinda and Chrysanta are banned from the school until January and they are allowed back.When Dunstan was killed in the summer of 1887, Orinda shut down a little-- a lot really. She’s opening up again since she has to do something to get out of the funk she’s been in.
1888: Instead of going to her third year of school, Orinda is starting her second. She’s hoping to make friends with new people, since a lot of people still look at her funny for having elongated canines and very pale skin. Though really, Scottish people are just as pale as she is! Now that the fog has lifted, Orinda is beyond ecstatic. Her sister was stuck outside Hogsmeade for the duration of the fog’s barrier and now that it’s gone she gets to see her again. The summer without Acacia was rough. She didn’t have many people to talk to since Chrysanta was busy with her own life.
Personality: Bright and precocious, Orinda loves to talk to people. She’s very outgoing and loves to meet new people. She tries not to let the half-breed status bother her since she had to miss some school because of the ban but sometimes the stares that others give her makes her a little anxious. Not much tends to bother her though, so she does well with new people and could have easily been in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff but she was thoroughly happy to be Sorted into Ravenclaw like Acacia.
Other: She likes to eat sweets, and when Honeydukes was demolished she was crestfallen. She needs to find somewhere else to get sweet things that aren’t healthy for her because fruit just doesn’t cut it.
