After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Another activity check come and gone! The list of inactive accounts has been compiled and deactivations and list maintenance are underway :) If you lost a character you'd like back, you may post in Maintenance starting Wednesday, September 11th. If you have no currently active characters you can post in maintenance immediately!

Charming Weekend
Thanks to those of you who participated in our August Charming Weekend! Raffle entries have been doled out, and in our super special bonus raffle, Bee (Daffodil Grimstone, whose name I typed correctly for the first time ever nope I added an E on the first attempt RIP) scored a bonus Against the Odds!

And speaking of raffles, the time has come to say goodbye to this year's summer raffle! Our final flight of winners, you ask?
After an embarrassing number of years, I have finally fixed up the old board/Charming Archive. For our newer members who might not be aware, it's our OG board (2010-2017). We started fresh in January 2018 carrying most of our board events and active characters over, although many things were retconned and left behind in the process. Due to a PHP update at least a year ago (probably double that, don't judge me) the old site which was running on software circa December 2017, was swamped by error messages and the ACP was non-functional so I couldn't get in to turn off the error messages. In hindsight, I could've changed our PHP version to make it work, sorted it out in the ACP, and then changed it back but I don't know if that crossed my mind or if it did and I just... didn't. Both are entirely plausible.
Anyway, yesterday I updated the software on the old board, updated a bunch of incorrect links, tidied, fixed some old skins (most are restored), and made a new default skin for our archive so it's not perpetually stuck in Christmas although it did kill me to put MJ's banner away just after restoring it. I also fixed the account switcher which stopped functioning when I update the software by about 30 versions so for older members who want to use the switcher to access old character stuff quicker, you'll need to reattach your accounts - sorry!
For our members who've joined us since 2018, it's now 90% more functional if you want to go snoop! I've also created a shared account for members who have no registered account on the archives so you can check out our old skins and should we ever decide to make the board private for some reason then there's a way to access for everyone.
