Appearance:

Kenna has the traditional “Black Irish” look to her. Her dark hair appears black sometimes, but is closer to a rich mahogany brown that falls in long, loose natural waves to the middle of her back when down. She’s gained quite a few skills in updos after her position as a lady’s maid, but her hair is typically it is swept back into a secure bun for work so it is not in her way. Blue eyes border on grey depending on her mood and the color of her dress. With a sweet face and a smattering of freckles, Kenna ‘s expressions are easy to read and she has an open, honest sort of face. Her style is pretty non-existent, she wears what she can afford and most of the time spends her days in her uniform for the Broomsticks. If she had a choice it would be bright colors and simple styles, but more often it is what she can patch up from Fiona. At the very least she is always neat and clean for work, though loves to let her hair down outside of work with her family. She carries herself gently, with an easy purpose to her walk and talk. Generally she is very approachable and easy to talk to. She stands at an average 5’1” and is right-handed.

MacKenna joins her older siblings and is supposed to be the last of the set.

1875
Kenna is far too little to understand what is going on with her mother’s latest pregnancy and does not pay it much attention.

1876
Declan goes off to school and this is strange to Kensy, who still doesn’t quite understand where he’s gone off to, so she trails around after Fiona, much to her eldest sister’s chagrin.

1878
Declan drops out the June before Fiona heads to Hogwarts and now Kens understands what’s taking her siblings from her, but she’s happy to have Deck home again, even if she doesn’t understand why he’s back

1880
Her mother’s pregnancy ends tragically with baby Maeve II surviving without his mother. Fiona comes home from school and stays. Kensy struggles immensely with the loss of her mother, becoming reserved and a little despondent, though she harbors no ill-will for the baby and spends lots of time in his nursery. Sean starts at Hogwarts this year too and Kens is glad to have Fiona and Declan around.

1883-1886
Hogwarts Sean’s last year is Kenna’s first and while she is sad not to have him there with her, Kenna knows that school is good for her, she can get a better paying job and help bring in money for Maeve to eventually got to school if she can at least make it through OWLs. She is capable enough, with dedication and she makes friends easily. Unfortunately her grades are not enough to keep her at school on scholarship and she drops out after her third year.

1887
Employment Fifteen year old Kenna starts helping with the family finances by taking on a scullery maid position for an upper class family. She aspires to become a cook one day, and does help out in the kitchen under the guidance of the current cook, but that ends when the woman leaves for another position and her replacement has no patience to teach.

1890
Kenna works her way up the maid ladder, moving up from scullery maid, to household maid and finally to lady’s maid for the lady of the house after her original lady’s maid leaves. Kensy is quick to catch on to all of her duties and winds up excelling at the position.

1891
Maeve goes to Hogwarts and the siblings have unanimously and silently vowed to get him through at least OWLs with their pooled funds.

1892
Scandal It takes a while of suppressing her feelings, but the more time she spends with the lady of the house, the more Kensy finds herself feeling romantically inclined toward her. Too scared to lose her position with Maeve in school now, she never does anything about it. That is until one night her mistress comes home from a ball rather tipsy and while they are getting her ready for bed, fall into bed together. Ever the romantic, thus begins a tiny, secret affair that only lasts six months before the pair are discovered by the woman’s husband. Kenna is unceremoniously released from her position with no references.

1893
Panicking without the career path she thought she would die in and no education to fall back on, Kenna hits a crossroad. In a big move (and partially to distance herself from the scandal), she moves in with Declan in Hogsmeade and takes up a maid’s position at the Three Broomsticks. It’s the same sort of work without the worry.

Personality:

GENTLE | ROMANTIC | DEDICATED | PATIENT
Kenna has a tender heart and a soft touch with people. She is mellow and rarely gets angry, but does show her excitement and sadness quite easily. With a soft spot for children and animals, Kenna can often be found treating the local children with leftovers from the broomsticks and petting the alley cats behind the inn. When she is with her siblings is when she is the most comfortable, quick to laugh and more outspoken. Life events have given her a certain level of pause and caution, but she will not make the same mistake twice. Kenna falls fast and easy for people; both men and women. A romantic through and through, she wishes for nothing more than a love match and to have a whole batch of children when the time is right. This causes a lot of internal conflict as she knows she is very attracted to women, possibly more than men, but also knows that she cannot have that sort of life with one. She also knows she cannot bring any shame upon the family that she holds so dear. She is quietly supportive of everything her siblings want to do and is everyone’s greatest cheerleader. Kensy dotes on Maeve and tries to send him treats from Honeydukes with her spare pocket change, though it is not as often as she would like. She feels responsible for him, as to many of her siblings and tries to make him feel as important as she can.
