Her hands were on his neck. It occurred to Noble that she had likely done this before; they both seemed to have their own ideas of how kissing should work. He solidified his hands on her hips, and leaned further into the kiss — putting a little more urgency into his movements.

The kiss continued to feel wrong, even when he returned some of the urgency she felt. Still, it was easier then to sink into the motions of kissing, easier to ignore the thoughts racing through her head and focus on the taste of Mr. Greengrass' lips.

Eventually, seconds or minutes or hours later, the sound of the gate closing outside could be heard through the small crack in the door.

Noble pulled out of the kiss, eyeing the cracked door. No one came to open it. Whoever had come in, or out, they didn't enter. The heat — or warmth, because they'd lacked heat — was gone. He looked back at her. "I'd do this again sometime," he said, "If you're interested." Wine, kissing — relatively harmless.

Rosalie blinked at him, her senses gradually returning after being so absorbed in the intimacy of their kiss. Slowly, her hands fell back to her sides and her cheeks flushed scarlet. Was she interested in doing this again? She certainly hadn't protested when he asked and perhaps later, when she wasn't as tipsy and miserable, she'd regret it. For now though - "yes, I would like that."
