History: The Clarke family dates back centuries. A well known name in the Wizarding and Political world, the name Clarke is distinguishable among those both in the upper and working class. Not only for the size of their legacy, but their role in the politics and formation of modern laws in the wizarding world. A bloodline as pure as snow, the Clarkes are untouched by muggle blood and creature abilities. Not a vampire, seer, or werewolf among them and they are extremely proud of that fact. The blood purist agenda runs through the veins of this family. Talk of equality and mixing the blood line is strictly prohibited and often times those who try to change their way of thinking mysteriously vanish, or they are suddenly 'mad' and locked away in the Psychiatric facilities in St.Mungo's. Going against the views of the family is just not done. They do not consider themselves to be radical in their blood purity efforts, preferring to handle their affairs more politically and graceful. Scandals aren't tolerated by any means and will be dealt with harshly. Even for the younger generations.
Jane Clarke, the middle child of three girls, is the poster child for her mother and father. Grace, beauty, eloquence, and distinguishability, Jane lives to make her parents and society proud. Living up to the Clarke name isn't easy, however. One wrong move and the entire families reputation is tarnished. Up until now, she has done everything she can to make sure she remains prestigious so that her families reputation doesn't suffer. But now that she is 16, the pressure is on for her to find a proper consort. The truth is, Janie doesn't want a consort or a betrothal. She wants to paint and play the harp and just live quietly in the countryside without having to put up such a heavy mask everyday. Unfortunately, that's just not something in the cards for high society girls. Now that she's going into her sixth year at Hogwarts, the question remains, will she continue to keep up her pretty face and elegant nature? Or will she rebel and try and forge her own way despite tarnishing her reputation?
Personality: Perceptive. Eloquent. Friendly. Cowardly. Self-Critical. Nosy
Other: Any other information you want to include.
Sample Roleplay Post: She hated being home. So much condescension and pressure. You would think after the trauma 'they' suffered as a family, something would've changed. Janie felt foolish for even thinking it would. Instead, her grandfather and mother didn't skip a beat in telling her that she needed to find someone to settle down with and marry so that they could further their precious family line. That was the last thing on Janie's mind, especially after...Janie crossed her arms tighter around her chest and cradled her shoulders. The bitter winter air was refreshing against her wind blown cheeks. She blinked away the tears that threatened her. With how cold it was, she knew they'd freeze to her face. And that just wasn't a good look for anyone.
Thinking about him made her heart ache in a way she wished she had never experienced. Loosing him...watching him fade in front of her was torture. When she closed her eyes, she saw it. It had been a while now, since everything happened with the fire. The school was rebuilt, people were trying to live their lives again, but she felt like she was stuck in a time loop. Constantly reliving those moments. How could she have been so naive to what her father was doing? The awful things he was involved in? Then again, Janie made it a point to stay as far out of her families business as she could. Part of her felt guilty, another part of her just felt numb.
Janie was standing near the Black Lake. It was frozen over solid from the cold winter and fresh snow was steady falling. Of course she was cold, but she didn't mind it as much. It was better than being in the castle. She still loved her school, even if it was different now. But sometimes she felt trapped behind the stone walls. She drew in a deep breath and exhaled hard. She looked around and took a few steps closer to the lake, her footsteps crunching in the snow. It was hard to tell exactly how close the frozen water was. Maybe it would get better, it had too. She was already half way through sixth year. At seventeen she could leave home and finally be free.
Crack...she fell through the ice.
