Appearance:
In her own opinion, Hermione as aged well. Her face maturing with a pleasant enough look, although she does feel the passing of the years with each new wrinkle. Her dark brown hair frames her pale face her eyes are a light blue. Hermione stands at 5’4 and despite her many pregnancies she has retained much of her figure, although perhaps not as lithe as in her girlhood. She sees age as little excuse not to keep up in the latest fashions and is often found wearing only the most fashionable clothes, muggle of wizarding style. Her wand hand is her right.
History:
CHILDHOOD [1831-1842]

Hermione has fond memories of her childhood. She is born the youngest of her siblings in 1831 and is loved by the family. Often spending the most time with her siblings and a string of nannies, Hermione feels no doubt of the love of her rather busy parents. Indeed she is often spoilt by them and finds at a young age that charm gets her further than tantrums. After Jameson’s first display of magic their trio is broken and the two sisters spend much of the next three years together slipping away from nannies and enjoying the relative freedom of their young lives. Perhaps because of the closeness of their relationship, rather then age, the two sisters display their first sign of magic around the same time and are promptly handed off to the governesses for lessons. Hermione doesn’t mind her lessons, but often would rather be out exploring with her sister rather than sitting in the stuffy library. This inclinations are tempered by her interest in more womanly activities, like painting, playing the piano, and embroidery. French grammar continues to be the worst parts of her day. When Harriet leaves for Hogwarts three years before Hermione she finds that she is often lonely. She spends her time charming the staff and her parents and excelling in her lessons to get attention from everyone.

SCHOOL YEARS [1842-1849]

Being the youngest it seems to take an awfully long time until Hermione finally gets her letter from Hogwarts, but upon attending she finds it is worth the wait. She is sorted into Gryffindor, excited to once again be with her sister. Following much in Harriet’s footsteps Hermione takes to the social aspects of school exceptionally well, making friends and quickly finding popularity among her peers. While her grades are nothing terribly exceptional, Hermione does put some effort into them to continue to impress her parents and differentiate herself from her siblings. When she reaches OWL level she only adds divination to her course load, not wanting to take time away from her social life. Too soon Harriet graduates from Hogwarts and Hermione is left her own devices. She does enjoy that people begin to see her as Miss Hermione Potter not the little sister of Miss Harriet Potter. The summer after her OWLS her parents arrange a marriage for her to Eldin Longbottom, she meets him and instantly likes the idea of the man. She spends her NEWT years doing reasonably well at her courses although she only completes four: Charms, Herbology, Potions, and Divination. Her NEWT scores are decent but she sees little to focus her attention on courses when she knows she has a good marriage ahead of her.

EARLY MARRIAGE & MOTHERHOOD [1849-1861]

Her graduation from Hogwarts see a quick succession of life changing events for Hermione in the following months: a coming out ball, her wedding a few months later, and a honeymoon to Europe. Eldin and Hermione are a well suited match and have a great deal of affection for each other. So much affection in fact that their first child, Annabelle, is born just over a year into their marriage. Hermione thrives in motherhood, spending more time with her child then her parents did. This doesn’t keep Hermione from growing into a respectable society hostess in the early years of her marriage. Three years after Belle is born Hermione delivers Gladys, the second girl to join the family and then in quick succession Rufina and Matilda are born. While Hermione loves her daughters she begins to feel disappointed that she has not yet delivered Eldin a son.
When Hermione becomes pregnant a year later she desperately hopes for a boy only to deliver little Louisa. Eldin is as indulgent and affection as ever and it isn’t long before Hermione is yet again expecting a child. This time Hermione delivers a long awaited son, Beckett. Thinking their family complete Hermione splits her time between her children and society, an exhausting task but one she thrives in. When she becomes pregnant just over a year after Beckett she is incredibly surprised, having thought herself content with life. But when Marcella is born it tempers Hermione’s sadness that Annabella has left for Hogwarts. The house is always a noisy bustle and Hermione thrives in her life.

SETTLED LIFE [1862-1877]

The next few years see children going off to school and a focus on their childrens’ futures rather than their own. Happy in their own marriage they arrange a marriage for Annabelle while she is still in school. When the two first meet Hermione believes the match will certainly be a good one. The next few years see Hermione focusing on finding matches for her children and watching them thrive in their schooling. Annabelle surprises Hermione by announcing that despite her marriage she has taken an internship at the Hospital. Eldin on the other than is furious, but relents when Annabella announces her first pregnancy only months later.

Not long after Harriet’s husband is killed by aurors, upending her sister’s happy life. Hermione provides whatever support she can to her sister and her sister’s children. It is difficult for Hermione to reconcile the fact that the brother in law she knew is actually a dark wizard. She worries the scandal may impact her own children, but she doesn’t allow Harriet or her nephews to see this. Gladys’s marriage the following summer alleviates some of these concerns, even if Hermione is saddened by her daughter’s subsequent move to New York City. Annabelle actually becomes a healer, once again surprising Hermione and Eldin.

When Rufina’s turn comes to marry her fiance dies in an unfortunate splinching accident. Hermione does her best to comfort Rufina, suggesting a period of half mourning before offering a coming out ball. However, Eldin is quick to arrange a new marriage for Rufina to the younger brother of her fiance and by October the pair is married. Childbirth seems less easy for Rufina as a premature labor takes the lives of the twins she was carrying and convinces Hermione that her daughter is going to die, she only breathes easier when Rufina finally recovers.

HOGSMEADE YEARS [1877-1890]

With the wizarding world in chaos Eldin moves the family to Hogsmeade, sparing no expense in their new home. Hermione misses the home they had made for themselves, but the luxury of the house in Wellingtonshire that Eldin has built quells some of this. Soon Hermione is hosting lavish events and attending even more society events in the new community. Beckett takes up a career, which Hermione doesn’t quite understand why he’d want to, and joins the Chudley Cannons

Louisa’s husband dies, Rufina suffers miscarriages, and Eldin becomes dangerously ill. For the first time in Hermione’s life she is more worried than anything else, afraid of what her life will bring her. Thankfully Eldin recovers, Hermione is sure she would not know what to do if he had not. The next few years see him circling from ill health to the perfect health he has always had which leaves Hermione constantly worried for him. Marcella is married off, the last of the Longbottom girls to do so, perhaps showing in the fact that she married below her station.

The next few years become some of the toughest of Hermione’s life. She receives word that her brother, Jameson, has died, but it has been many years since she has last seen him. Then true sorrow hits when Gladys and her husband die in the Laughing plague shortly after returning from America. Only a year later Beckett finally sees sense and retires from quidditch, but Hermione’s satisfaction at this career change is checked by Louisa’s death later in the year. Losing two daughters in two years is tough on Hermione and she becomes quietly more protective of her children.
The next few years pass happily enough with Hermione enjoying her role of mother, grandmother, and society host. Beckett purchases a quidditch team, which Hermione can’t fault him for, but she also knows it is time for him to start considering settling down. She offers support to her grown children as she can, even tolerating the Fogsmeade summer to remain close to those who stay in Hogsmeade. After Ernest’s accident she even takes the step to move in with the Mulibers until his recovery.
Personality:
Hermione is a deeply caring woman, offering advice and attempting to stay calm for her children when needed. She loves to feel needed and thrives off of attention. When face with a problem she tries to be pragmatic but can also be swayed by her emotions. Among society Hermione is charming and charismatic with a vivacious liveliness at parties. She is a soft purist.
