Dear Arabella,

Just a quick note to check how 6th year is going? I know of your love of transfiguration and read recently that one of your school mates has mastered the animagus transformation! How startling! For one so young.  Do you know her and how she manged it? I would imagine that she would be part of the transfiguration club given her clear aptitude for the subject.

When is your next Hogsmeade weekend? I would love to meet you for tea, on me, in the tea shop, and I can tell you about how I'm so determined to not be an old maid I've resorted to the lonely hearts ads

Yours with fondness
Bevolence M

Enclosed is something like THIS but made from real flowers, in ravenclaw house colours.

Dear Ben,

I was beginning to wonder when you'd grace me with one of your letters again.
6th year has, to be completely honest, been quite a crunch. Even subjects like Transfiguration and Ancient Runes - which you know I both love to pieces - have begun to do my head in. But then again, it's only about a year and a half until N.E.W.T. season for me, so that's what I should expect, right?
I presume you're speaking of Sweetie Whitledge, or, as she prefers to be called, Rachel. Yes, she's the president of the Transfiguration Club I've spoken to her once or twice, and she is quite intimidating - but in a good way. I mean, becoming an Animagus is pretty much the peak of knowledge and ability when it comes to transfiguration - I can only dream of ever getting so far. That's not to say I haven't considered taking the task of becoming one upon myself, but my brother, Rodolphus, has told me the most horrid stories regarding the ritual. For example, did you know that some people attempting the ritual would wake up with rabbit legs or a pig's tail one day if they messed it up?! That is simply ghastly to think of! Everyone, and I do mean literally everyone, who is part of the Transfiguration Club seems to be trying to become an animagus. I feel as if I'm the odd one out.

Regarding the next Hogsmeade weekend; I don't really know, but I will definately be taking you on on that invitation to tea!

Best regards,
Ara

P.S. Thank you so much for the flower crown! I will definately be wearing it when spring swings around! Say hello to your parents from me, too!

Dear Ara,
How wonderful for her.  I would colour myself impressed if the thought of becoming an animagus didnt terrify me.  No thank you! I will stick to my plants thank you very much! I do hope her very rare success doesn't encourage others to take foolish risks.  If you want an animagus horror story you need only look to Professor Valenduris brother.  He was skilled at magic and a full animagus and now hes stuck as an owl!

With the shop expanding I've taken on managers so I'm not in the shop anymore.  So your next weekend, when you find yourself in the village, pop by the shop and one of the girls will send word to the greenhouse.  I spend most weekends tending my flowers.

Love
Ben

Dear Ben,

It is quite an amazing feat on her part, that much is true, but still, could you imagine if she had failed the ritual?! I hear her animagus form is a cat, so she might aswell have grown whiskers or a cat's tail! While the image of Rachel with either of these features is quite amusing, I still can't help but be terrified of her bravery. Her family, by the way, appears in Witch Weekly quite often, and her and her brother Handsome (who I haven't yet spoken to) are prominent figures in Hogwarts' rumour mill aswell. I don't know if you read Witch Weekly, but I picked up a copy not so long ago to try and distract myself from all the schoolwork, and some of the things you find in there are quite intriguing!

I didn't even know Professor Valerius had a brother! How unfortunate - but it is also very curious that the oddity in question appeared only after he had become an animagus, and even more so the fact that his transformation is permanent. I imagine that, if he had simply grown a beak or something of the sort, the healers at Saint Mungo's would've been quite swift in returning him to his human state, but to be permanently trapped in a bird's body...? That seems like a horrible fate.

Oh, I am overjoyed by your success! I mean no harm by this, but who would've thought that a florist shop would see expansion this quickly? I must order some flowers to send to Mother when I'm in Hogsmeade again... It's been quite a while since I've seen her, and she misses me dearly.

Love,
Ara
