With the RECENT ANNOUNCEMENT of a new election comes, predictably, the election of a new leader of Wizarding Britain! The election itself will take place IC on October 19th and OOC from October 5th to 19th, with campaigning starting now! Do you have interested characters? Excellent. We want them.
STEP ONE
Post the following form below on the applicable account, provided that they…
Code:
STEP TWO
SUBMIT AN ARTICLE to the Daily Prophet (CCing BEANIE Cassius Lestrange) indicating your character’s intention to run. This article should be written by you yourself and include a bit of background on your character. It should be no fewer than 100 and no more than 400 words in length. This should be published by Ian Pengloss from July 20th to October 1st. Once your article has been published, you can move on!
STEP THREE
Campaign! Campaigning can help earn you realism votes (dictated OOC), as well as help to get your name out there for characters to see. What might campaigning entail?
CATCHES
But Beanie, what about the actual voting? As in the past, we’ll be doing a combination of IC voting (for eligible characters), OOC voting (for those who don’t have eligible voters), and Realism Votes to make up the rest of the Wizarding World. A complete list of eligible voters will be released late in September ?

Campaign! Campaigning can help earn you realism votes (dictated OOC), as well as help to get your name out there for characters to see. What might campaigning entail?
- Hosting campaign events and rallies*
- Have these covered in the DP or WW
- Attending various events and schmoozing
- Closed-door conversations
- Publishing a platform in the DP—this should be separate from your announcement for running
- Posting campaign posters on the community bulletin, or purchasing ad space (UC/MC only—clear with ) in WW
- Publishing a candidate profile in the DP or WW
CATCHES
- Only six candidates will make it on the final ballot. On October 3rd, staff will decide who four of these are based on qualifications and effort thus far. The remaining two slots will be filled at random from the remaining candidates! We will limit these slots to one per player.
- Candidates can have rumours—positive or negative—circulate about them at any time, without any basis in fact, and without consent.
- If your character falls inactive at any time and for any reason from the day you sign up until the election, they’re out.
- If elected, things like character death must be approved by staff with notice. We also will reserve the right to NPC your character in terms of articles should she/he/they fall inactive after election.
