Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
I've not heard from you, although I expect that you are overtaken with the excitement of your first few days at school. I hope you are enjoying it immensely but your papa would like to know how you are getting on and if you are enjoying your time? And- perhaps more importantly, what house you have ended up in?
I’m sorry I haven’t written to you sooner! The days have gone by so fast, and I’ve been having so much fun with my new friends that I lost track of time. I got into Gryffindor!! Just like you! I was so scared the hat was going to put me into something else. I’d been hoping I could just tell it what I wanted but then it asked me all of these questions! Thankfully it seems to have known I belonged in the same house as you.
We’re going to be working on our flying skills soon and I am so very excited! I really want to start practicing now so that I can be just as amazing as the players on the Montrose Magpies and try out for the house team at some point! You’ll let me play, right Papa?
Mó Cuilean,
Congratulations! I am incredibly proud of you. I never doubted you'd find a home in gryffindor.
Do not worry for your old Papa, I understand how exciting the first few days should be and do not begrudge you at all. As to quidditch of course you may try out. You must promise me that you will be careful and not be too upset if you are unlucky, as getting onto the team in first year is so very rare. There is club quidditch which you should play even if you don't make the house team this year. You have my support t all times my darling.
All my Love,
Papa,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BROOM!!! I absolutely LOVE it, and I promise to take such good care of it! And I PROMISE to be extra careful when I play too!!! Unfortunately the Gryffindor team this year is quite full, so I’m planning on practicing as much as I can in the quidditch club so I can try out once there is an opening! I was so sad when I found out. There’s this silly boy in my house that thinks the Ballycastle Bats are better than the Montrose Magpies! Can you imagine? I really want to prove to him how great the Scottish are at quidditch!
Mó Cuilean,
You're very welcome and I shall be very proud of you, even if you do not make the team, although I encourage you to try your hardest.
I'm sure either way we shall have lots of fun if you come home for Christmas as I'm sure we can scare up enough people for a pickup game over the holidays if you are back at the reach.
Keep me up to date with how all of your classes are going.
