Wizengamot, Attn: Court ScribeI sincerely appreciate the efforts this court undertook in soliciting opinions from the public to ensure the anonymity and privacy of the impacted parties. However, with so few details present in the notice it is difficult for anyone to have an informed opinion. To that end, I write to submit not recommendations (which would be too bold even for an academic in the subject) but rather questions that I hope the court will consider in its debate of the particulars of the case.
1. There is a great degree of difference in various types of nonhuman ancestry, particularly in how they present in the bloodline in later generations. For the consideration of the court: is the individual with one non-human parent easily identifiable as such, in terms of physical bearing, stature, skin color, etc?
2. Can any special considerations or conditions present in the individual with one non-human parent be appropriately managed so as to avoid drawing Muggle attention, and has the individual determined a plan to do so while in muggle society?
3. Does the member of the muggle nobility have associated duties with the role that require them and their family to be particularly in the public eye?
4. To what extent will the children of this couple be expected to participate in muggle society?
5. To what extent will the nonhuman traits of the couple's children, if applicable, interfere with their ability to blend in with Muggle society when necessary?
While I do not pretend to be an expert on the subject of muggle nobility, it is my understanding that they tend to marry mostly within their ranks, and that an unknown member entering into a union would cause a stir regardless of their heritage, however it would not be the precedent of the court to interfere with the marriage of a magical member of the muggle nobility and a human witch or wizard. To that end, I believe the above questions are most salient in determining whether or not a marriage license should be granted in this case.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
