Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
Grace writes to say you are courting—how happy I am for you, though I do wish that you might have been the one to convey such exciting news. Please tell me all there is to know about your Mr. Swann, as well as your own feelings on the matter! Important as my continued education is, I cannot help but feel entirely out of the loop.
You have my most sincerest apologies in the delay of news. Courting is an exhausting process it seems, though that's no excuse.
Mr. Swann is the most chivalrous gentleman. We met back in August but weren't truly acquainted until the disaster last month. He rescued me from the worst of the damage, much like a hero in some novel. I wasn't expecting anything to come out of it, of course, but he discussed it with Ford and the rest is history.
My only disappointment is that you'll be back at school for everything. It would've been so nice to discuss this all with Grace and you together.
He sounds gallant indeed! I, too, wish that I might be there to meet him and offer my own observations, but in the interim, I must rely upon your own, I suppose. You say he discussed the matter with our brother—surely your own thoughts and preferences were considered as well? I should reevaluate my initial impression of him if this is not the case! I have, always, your best interests at heart, after all.
