The first word one might come up with at the sight of five foot two Zandra is “elegant” — always dressed in the finest of fashions, whether muggle or magically inclined, with her blonde hair coiffed perfectly. Piercing blue eyes stare from noble features, framing an aquiline nose above a dainty pout. Her lashes are thick and naturally dark. Her figure, while not slender as is the fashion, is quite feminine, with curves emphasised by the latest styles of corsetry. She is right-handed with wand and quill, and favors the color blue.
History:1839 Within a year of her parents’ wedding, Zandra Hope Crabbe is born. While a daughter, her birth is celebrated with the hope of more children to come.Personality:
1842 Another daughter, Chloe, is born. Zandra, merely two at the time of the birth, is unimpressed at the sight of her squalling infant sister.
1844 A governess is employed for the growing daughters of the house. Zandra begins showing talent in singing, and a vocal tutor is employed. This year also sees Zandra’s first act of magic, levitating a candle from the Christmas tree. She nearly sets fire to a hundred-year-old rug, but any damage is quickly prevented by the quick action of the newly-employed governess.
1845 Yet another daughter is born, and named Eirene. Roderick, still without an heir, begins to worry.
1847 Finally, Doris blesses the household with a son, quickly named Leonidus. The heir is far more celebrated than any of the preceding daughters.
1851 To no one’s surprise in the household at all, upon Zandra’s arrival at Hogwarts she is sorted into Slytherin.
1853 At the end of her second year, Zandra decides to sign up for Divination as an OWL course. She is informed when she arrives home for the summer that, following her OWL exams, she is to be sent to a finishing school in magical Paris.
1856-1861 Following her OWLs, just as promised, Zandra is sent to finishing school. The next five years are spent in rigorous education. Her voice develops into a lovely soprano, arguably the envy of all her finishing school companions.
1865 After three and a half unfortunately unsuccessful seasons, Zandra marries childless divorcée Roderick Malfoy in February. The wedding is just as lovely as she’d always hoped, though the groom more mature than she’d ever imagined. Still, better than becoming a spinster. Then, a son. Zandra is beyond overjoyed that she is able to make her husband happy so quickly, though she does not get any input into her child’s name. She might have been older than he’d desired in a bride, but she had gotten the job done.
1867 Raphael is followed by first daughter Angeline.
1870 Another daughter, Estelle, is born. Another joyous day, though she’s starting to feel the wear of giving birth.
1872 A third daughter and final child, Victoire, is born. Zandra insists that this is the last of her children, and proceeds to dote upon the infant far more than she had on her older children.
1877 Raphael is pleasingly sorted into Slytherin.
1878 Angeline joins her brother in Slytherin. Zandra is more proud of her daughter following in her footsteps than she felt she was with her son...
1881 Angeline’s best friend’s family turns out to be a lie — Mrs. Zabini is revealed to be a masquerading halfblood. Zandra is displeased, especially when she learns that Angeline continues to be young Bellona’s friend. However, knowing that some friendships are harder to break than others, Zandra says nothing of it. Angeline and Bellona have been friends their whole youth. Time would tell if that would break.
1884 Roderick sends Angeline off to the brand new Pendergast finishing school before she can complete her NEWTs. This same year, Raphael completes his NEWTs and graduates, finding himself on a professional quidditch team. Second-string, of course.
1885 Raphael is promoted to first-string. Zandra is proud of him, of course, despite the sport being something she herself never was interested in. She spends the game season learning the rules, predominantly, and attending at least some of his games. She won’t travel too far to watch him, though.
1890 An injury forces Raphael into retirement from the sport. Though secretly pleased, Zandra tries to be supportive. Emphasis on tries, especially after the Quidditch World Cup kills a woman.
1891 Her older daughters are failing her. Angeline’s rumored to be less-than-sober. Estelle almost hates her family. Only Victoire is doing anything right. But it’s the Season. It’s time to try and get her older daughters married. No matter what Roderick says, one of them will be getting married this year. She swears it.
