Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
Andromeda smiled politely and curtseyed to Mr. Fraser. If memory served her correctly, his daughter was in her house at school! From what she'd been told, it appeared the family was a little bit eccentric, yet Idunn had proved to far to be a practical and solemn presence in the house.
The Ravenclaw Matron proceeded to wave her wand to cast a knockback jinx.
Apparently this young woman was some kind of staff member up at the school. He bowed deeply to her, twirling his wand idly as he waited for the duel to begin. Mrs. Delacour went for something suitably straightforward, but Ewart could simply not be bothered about using a shield charm. Instead, he thought he might throw her spell off-course by enchanting the patch of floor beneath her feet to - with a sudden ripple - wobble riotously beneath her, bouncy and sticky all at once. Like a trampoline. Made of jelly.
Ewart passed his opponent an approving nod as he dusted himself off the floor. His joints had not thanked him for his aversion to shield charms, then. But exercise was exercise, he supposed, even when it consisted of getting thrown about like a ragdoll!
This time, Ewart cast a strange little charm that was supposed to send the victim into a trance-like sleep. It had worked well enough in the past, although one could not always account for the strange subjects of the dream flashes they might experience.
