Petite and slender at five feet, one inch tall, Tessie has never come across as particularly strong nor intimidating. She could be described as pretty by some, but this mostly comes from the manner in which she tends to herself, including the care she puts into dressing herself. She wears muggle dresses designed with the latest trends in mind, usually in pale colors as not not overwhelm her fair complexion and hair color. She has light, blue eyes, brows that grow slightly darker than the hair on her head, and is right-handed.History:
1867 | Hamish and Fairy Darrow welcome a daughter into their household! Tessa proves to be the least troubling daughter, staying quiet throughout the night for most days of the week. She is extremely doted on by her parents, and she is dubbed "Tessie" by her father.Personality:
1868 | Tessie's parents welcome another child, a girl named Penelope! The new baby looks much different from the fair-haired Tessie, but the elder of the two girls barely catches sight of her sister during the year.
1872 | Her mother finally births a son! The older Tessie is more interested in the new addition than she was when Penelope was born, but she doesn't find much amusement with Gilderoy other than making him giggle. Tessie's older brother, Murray, magics the baby away during his first sign of magic, leaving the worrying Tessie distraught until he's discovered six days later — luckily alive.
1873 | Tessie begins a muggle and magical-style education, learning how to read, write, do basic mathematics — all the skills she'll need for her magical education! — alongside both muggle and magical history and foreign languages! With a father so passionate about all-things related to history, Tessie grows up spouting off historical facts that related to the situations she's in. She is also trained in the female arts and etiquette.
1875 | Tessie's first sign of magic appears, quite unfortunately, when she accidentally murders a garden gnome. After being startled by one outside the family home, she sets him ablaze! Though she attempts to help the creature, it flees and presumably dies.
1876 | Mercutio goes off to Hogwarts and is sorted into Gryffindor.
1878 | The year after the muggles riot and prance around with their bigoted anti-magical views, Tessie begins school. She is sorted (quite happily!) into her Papa's house and begins her classes. Her favorites are History of Magic, Charms, and Herbology! Her least favorites are Defence Against the Dark Arts and Flying.
1880 | Tessie adds Ancient Studies (of course!), Care of Magical Creatures, and Ancient Runes to her course load.
1881 | Her mother dies during the year, leaving Tessie to cry her eyes out. She does not manage the sadness well, and her grades slip more than she'd expected.
1882 | Tessie is passed up for prefect.
1883 | Tessie takes her OWL exams and Murray graduates from Hogwarts! She receives mostly positive OWL results, though there are some classes that she receives less-than-stellar grades in. She continues her education with the following classes: Ancient Studies, Charms, History of Magic, Herbology, and Transfiguration.
Spring, 1885 | Tessie graduates from Hogwarts and debuts.
Summer, 1885 | Though she imagined being swept off her feet by a suitor directly following her debut into society, she is not. She spends her first season being anxious and does not even manage to catch a man's eye!
1886 | After another failed season, Tessie all but gives up on her dreams of being a happy housewife and resigns to the life of a governess. She begins working for the Ross family — a highly-respected middle class family. She works hard to gain their trust, as well as their children's.
1887 | An election pops up, and Mr. Ross runs for Minister! She does her best to support him, usually by making sure his children stay out of the way and and are well-cared for. In December, he is successfully elected Minister of Magic and she is officially the governess to the Minister.
