Appearance:
Caspian has inherited his parent’s features in an interesting mix. Dark hair and eyes complement his naturally tanned skin. He is solidly built at 5’9”, with toned muscles and rough hands from all of the physical work of his job. Ian keeps a well-groomed beard, but it doesn’t grow too long so it can appear a little scruffy. His hair starts the day well-placed, but by the end, after he’s run his hands through it across the course of the day, it is all over the place. He dresses comfortably for work and is right handed.
History:
Personality:
July 27th, 1858
A Second SonCaspian is born the second son to Indian immigrants to England. Two more siblings will join the family over the next few years. His father establishes a magical watchmaker’s Shop in Diagon Alley that is slow to start, but winds up doing well. 1869-1870
First YearCaspian is off to Hogwarts and is quickly sorted into Ravenclaw. He has always had a curious and analytical mind, so this is of no surprise. He quickly adapts to the academic portions of school, but struggles a little bit socially. 1870-1871
Second YearSecond year is about the same as first, though he does make a few friends. He’s sort of adopted by an outgoing Gryffindor who thrusts him into being a little more social. Ian is more soft-spoken than awkward, but it can translate to him being standoffish and unapproachable. 1871-1872
Third YearCaspian adds Ancient Runes and Earth Magic. He has come to excel in Charms and Transfiguration, not so much in Potions. He enjoys Astronomy as a hobby, but not much further than that. 1872-1873
Fourth YearThe year is spent mostly studying all manner of Charms. Caspian knows that he would very much like to take after his father in the watch shop, but isn’t completely sure yet. He spends most of his free time goofing around with taking clocks apart and fixing them, adding magical twists here and there. 1873-1874
Fifth YearOWLs loom and thought Ian is more sure than ever he wants to continue in the family business he decided he should try to achieve good marks in the most practical subjects to keep his options open. The ministry or the hospital, to take after his mother are both options, despite his dislike for potions. 1874-1875
Sixth YearIan decides to keep Charms, Transfiguration, Astronomy, Herbology, and Ancient Runes for classes. Most of which will be helpful for his future, some are just for fun. He likes tinkering with telescopes and in gardens in his spare time. 1875-1876
Seventh YearGraduation looms and while Caspian isn’t worried about it, he will miss the comfort school has provided. He’s a little more outgoing by the time he graduates, but being away from his friends makes it difficult to maintain. 1876-1878
ApprenticeshipWith his elder brother choosing to pursue a ministry career. Though he’s been around the shop his entire life, Caspian dives headfirst into this apprenticeship, despite his father’s high expectations, with his whole heart. 1878-1885
ProfessionalWorking hard in the family shops isn't’ exactly all it’s cracked up to be. Caspian can now see why his older brother decided to pursue a different career. His father is not all that easy to work with, demanding and a bit of a perfectionist. Ian also values quality in his work and his dedication is there, but the weight of his father’s expectations are a little too much. 1885
IndependenceCaspian takes his savings and invests almost all of it into buying a small shop in Hogsmeade, on the High Street, to take this career into his own hands. Virani Watches & Clocks opens in the spring and consumes most of Ian’s time… which is why he’s still single at 34…
UNASSUMING| AMIABLE | DRIVEN | NERDY | SOFT SPOKEN
Caspian can appear as a little aloof and antisocial, which is not truly the case at all. He is far more content to listen than to speak and when he does, he is very soft spoken. More than happy to listen to people talk about the things they love, Ian does not always return the favor, which can be off putting to some people. He generally thinks that nobody is interested in what he has to say, just what he can do, so tends not to insert himself into many conversations. Once you get to know him, or include him in a social situation, he is pretty easy to talk to and is a very loyal friend.
