In-Character
Full Name: Albert Edgar Pettigrew
Nicknames:
Birthdate: June 07, 1858
Current Age: Twenty-Nine Years
Occupation: Research Committee Member
Reputation: 9
Though he's done everything humanly possible to protect his own reputation, he can't control the things his family does (i.e. Thom' questionable choice of brides and then his subsequent treatment of them, and the unpredictable literally, because he hasn't been made yet actions of his other brother).
Residence: A modest, but well-kept flat in London, England. While he could likely afford more, he sees no need for that "frivolous" display of wealth when he's living by himself.

Blood Status: Pureblood
Social Class: Upper Class

    Mezereon Prewett, Nephew [1883]
Thomas "Thom" Pettigrew, Brother [1855]
Hannah Pettigrew (née Echelon), Current Sister-in-law [1864]
    Odessa Pettigrew, Niece [1881]
    Alexander Pettigrew, Nephew [1883]
----- Pettigrew, Brother [1859]
Appearance:
There is nothing out of the ordinary about Albert's appearance, which he decided long ago is a good thing. Very noticeable, distinct features can lead others to have premature opinions towards someone, and he enjoys being able to make an impression on others that is entirely of his doing. He stands slightly below average at five feet, five inches tall, enjoying a greater height than Thomas but not as tall as his other brother.

Unlike Thom, Albert has blonde hair that's failed to darken over the years. His eyes are hazel, oftentimes appearing more brown than anything else. He dressed impeccably and with care, though the one area he's always lacked in is caring for facial hair. While he does try to keep it neat (lest he look far beyond his years, and not in a good way!), work has a way of distracting him from that. He wields his wand with his right hand.
History:
1858 | Albert is born the second child and second son of Henrich and Lucy Pettigrew. His birth would have been far more celebrated if he had been the firstborn, but it seems he was destined to be the spare heir.

1859 | A third Pettigrew child is born, this time yet another boy who's given the name -----. At just a year old, Albert takes very little notice of the second child apart from his disruptive crying at times.

1864 | At six years of age, Albert begins his general education including the extensive history of magical Europe, as well as basic skills like reading, writing, mathematics, and foreign languages. An argument with the younger of his two brothers prompts him to change the boy's hair from blond to brown during an argument — only temporarily, and the incident is lost in memory. At this age, Albert begins his quest to distinguish himself from his "snotty" older brother and his "annoying" younger brother, mimicking any signs of maturity he sees from the adult men in his life and displaying a serious, unamused attitude at things the adults view as childish.

1866 | Thom goes off to Hogwarts and is sorted into Slytherin (good riddance!), leaving Albert to be the biggest boy in the household! He uses his newfound powers to boss his younger brother around, though that only lasts as long as it takes for the household staff to put an end to the boys' daily arguments.

1869 | FINALLY, he gets his own Hogwarts letter and joins his older brother in Slytherin, surprising absolutely no one. His overly self-assured nature disposition (and his inability to make a joke!) makes making friends a difficult task, and in the end he sticks with the group of friends he'd grown up with.

1870 | His younger brother joins him as school. Having all three boys at Hogwarts is decidedly easier than having them all in the same household. At Hogwarts, they can pretend the others don't exist — or as Albert does until he can't avoid the truth any longer, tell everyone that the younger of his brothers is just a cousin.

1871 | The Struggle to pick electives is real for Albert, and he goes back and forth from wanting to take classes that interest him to ones that can be paired up to compliment each other. In the end, he combines both thoughts by formulating a mix that will provide him with the maximum knowledge in the long run: Ancient Studies, Ancient Runes, and Care of Magical Creatures. He really does enjoy Ancient Runes above all the others, taking it into his own hands to study and learn them.

1874 | After taking is OWLs (and getting good scores, of course), Albert is once again faced with a dilemma about what classes to continue his NEWT education with. After careful pondering, he decides on a full course load, simply to prove that he's better than Thom: Ancient Runes, Ancient Studies, Astronomy, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, History of Magic, and Transfiguration. Potions gets basically thrown out the window, which is alright — he sees no use for education that advanced in that subject.

1875 | In the first time since the family section that Bree's talked about her, Albert's sister gets married to Faustus Prewett. He thinks it's a good match, and tries to be friendly with his new brother-in-law.

1876 | Years of studying pays off in a single month of examinations, and Albert graduates school in May after finishing them. He anxiously awaits his NEWTs, but stops stressing about them once he secures a position as an intern at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He's still unsure which career path he wants to take, but believes a lawyer (or maybe an oliviator?) is a fancy enough position.

1877 | Muggles make a scene after the discovery of magic. Albert and his family remain at their home in Lancashire, though Albert likely complained about that until he's told to shut up or move out. Boo hiss.

1878 | After finishing his internship, a group of friends take him out to a high-class brothel where he finally gets around to losing that thing called his virginity. He decides to continue as a clerk at the Ministry, believing that a lawyer sounds like a dignified (and safe, which he doesn't actually dare say aloud) kind of job.

1880 | Thom's marriage is one celebrated within his family, except Albert had been hoping just a teeeeeny tiny bit that Thom would perish so he could be the family's heir. Whatever, he'll just do better than Thom at literally everything from now on.

1881 | Thom has an infant daughter, which would be cool except Albert doesn't really care. He sends gifts and probably visits once or twice just to be a "good brother", but otherwise forgets her existence when asked about his family. On a much brighter note, Albert finally decides that he's done with his clerk job and moves onto the position of a junior lawyer!

1882 | One of his mentors is assigned to a case regarding an unregistered animagus being caught in Leeds, leading to Albert to take an interest in that field of magic. He'd always done well in Transfiguration, but never considered becoming an animagus. Hmm.

1883 | Thom has a male infant which is... just awful.

1884 | The laughing plague offs both Albert's father and Thom's wife, which isn't too awful in the greater scheme of things, except that Thom takes his newfound role as the family head as an opportunity to boot both Albert and his younger brother from their rooms at the family home. Offended, Albert takes to calling Thom "Thomas" at every formal and informal meeting. While he's not poor enough to fall to the middle class, he's not financially secure enough to where he can live in a lavish home on his own; as such, he teams up with one of his Hogwarts friends and moves into an upscale London flat with him. He takes the opportunity to (quite uncharacteristically) take a risk on an investment with some of his savings with the hope he'll make big bank.

1885 | After almost literally a decade of working towards his goal, Albert becomes a lawyer. It's not the fanciest job in the world, but still one that pays the bills and gives him the feeling of being a Strong, Responsible Adult.

1886 | Albert's investment pays off after the company he'd invested publishes a successful magazine that becomes the "alternative news" of America. He's able to part ways with his roommate and move into an admittedly slightly smaller, but way better decorated apartment in a nicer part of magical London. Thom also makes a Poor Life Choice by marrying Miss Hannah Echelon, a disgraced debutante whose criminal father had died the years before. He has the whole "wtf are you doing with your life, you were supposed to be responsible" attitude towards his brother, which never really fades.

1887 | Disaster strikes at the Wizarding Work Market, which only seems to be the harbinger to more bad news to come. Scandal erupts throughout the Ministry when the Minister's daughter is revealed to be a werewolf, prompting his to resign. His boss and school dorm-mate, Roman Crouch, runs for Minister, and Albert isn't quiet with his support of the latter. Plot twist: his boss wins, and Albert does the whole ass-kissing thing for a while. He also begins eyeing a recently-debuted woman after having an epiphany that he's scheduled to be the next Pettigrew brother to marry.

1888 | After facing multiple instance of overwhelming frustration while on the job, Albert schmoozes his way onto the Research Committee. It seems like it'll be an easier job, and definitely a higher-paying one at that. Also, at the beginning of the year, he quietly performs his first animagus transformation and registers with the Ministry after successfully becoming a butterfly, which is weird but not entirely inconvenient.
Personality:
OPPORTUNISTIC. JUDGMENTAL. CHARISMATIC. CONDESCENDING. DEDICATED. SELFISH.

Notable elements of his/her personality:

Generally Friendly | Though by no means the epitome of warmth, Albert understands that being liked can be just as influential as having power. Very few will support those they deem unpleasant and unfriendly, and as such he puts on a charming smile and laid-back attitude when socializing with others. Note that this only applies to public outings; Albert can't help but speak his mind, even if his words are unpleasant, in private.

Responsible | If someone (for whatever reason) were to ask him what makes him better than his brothers, he'd likely answer that he has a greater sense of responsibility. He'd say that while Thomas looks more successful, he's had the knowledge of being the family heir in he back of his mind that's allowed him to take risks with his own money that might not have otherwise, and his other brother... well, it's not difficult to see the reasoning. Albert tends to look more at long-term consequences of his actions, and as such never does anything that might have the opportunity to damage his future financial success or reputation.

Modest | He may look down on the poor for being poor, but he's not really one to put on extravagant displays of wealth or status. His residence is a small one despite his ability to afford more, and his outfits — while at the height of fashion — are not complimented by any overly-expensive watches or other accessories. He comes across as a career gentleman, which is alright; there's nothing wrong with showing ambition, he says.
