Charity Does NaNo - Charity Lloyd - November 1, 2021

I HAVE MADE MY DECISION.

Charity goes to Hogwarts next year, and a while back I made a little goal with myself that I would get her to 200 posts before then. NaNo is more of a means to an ends in that regard, but also Charity is probably my most reliable muse in that I can always muster up a bit of her weirdness.

THAT BEING SAID, I need help with her going into November. I sucked throughout the end of September and all throughout October, so most of her threads are probably dead. If we had one that I killed that you wouldn't mind reactivating, let me know!

I have some ~plotty ideas for her in November:

  • Charity gets a passion project. Maybe she decides to become a Master Wizards Chess Player at the young age of ten. Maybe she decides to create an unofficial local club for Exploding Snap in Irvingly that she doesn't tell anyone about because the other club members are weirder than she is. Maybe she discovers something creepy and, being Charity, doesn't tell anyone and hoards it all to herself (and anyone she happens upon IC).

  • Charity gets lost. An idea that's only fun if she gets lost with somebody, or if she interacts with a good handful of people while lost without really telling any of them that she's lost. Maybe something happens and she thinks Caroline has purposefully done away with her. Maybe she thinks she's setting out for the life of a sad hermit child. You know Charity.

  • ~Family Drama~. Not on her mother's side with the Darrows, but on her father's side. Maybe she decides she's going to find out more about her father's family and discovers that she's got more magic on that side of the family than just her muggleborn father. Maybe her great-grandfather was a squib and she's got magical second-cousins hopping around that she decides the spy on. This would obviously require said second-cousins as a new connection, but it could be a funny plot that wouldn't really have any long-term ramifications for your character except for discovering they have a sad orphan child as a distant relative (or a squib in their family that they never learned about ).

And if you have nothing for any of these, feel free to shout your ideas or your potential threading partners @ me anyways.

I'm all for reactivating Eros/Charity! And he could send letters! Tell me not to make a new, Irvingly child character for the sole purpose of being Charitys friend xD
Also would love to keep going on Neridan/Charity!
Alistair and Charity could get lost together when he's supposed to be helping keep an eye on her or something, idk xD

RE: Charity Does NaNo - Elsie Kirke - November 1, 2021

I think all I've really got is if she gets lost at the zoo, Eva will Handle it lol

Definitely make a new, Irvingly child character for the sole purpose of being Charity's friend! Wink

Okay okay so definitely yes to keeping our threads going, but what if Charity was determined to make her own potion and made Alistair help her put all the ingredients together despite 90% of them being, like, ordinary grass.

Charity LOVES the Zoo and I think one time she spent the whole day drawing all the creatures. Maybe she drops her sketchbook or something in an enclosure and demands help getting it back, idk. But definitely yes!!

If she wants to get lost in London/Knockturn Alley or find herself accidentally thrust into crime, I could possibly resurrect Eli to help a little with your NaNo goals. rofl Otherwise, I wish I had something for her.

RE: Charity Does NaNo - J. Alfred Darrow - November 1, 2021

- revive anything you want
- Alfred has no plots and only two threads right now so I'm also up for whatever shenanigans you can come up with
- possibly getting lost with Resident Irvingly Werewolf Topaz Urquart?

RE: Charity Does NaNo - Charity Lloyd - November 1, 2021

Okay so hear me out:

- Charity goes through a few instances where she ends up separated from her chaperon/Caroline/whoever and doesn't intend to (such as ending up in Knockturn Alley instead of Diagon Alley while using the floo, where she meets Eli and getting separated in a crowd at the Zoo (Elsie Kirke)
- Then finally there's one incident where something bigger happens (such as getting lost in an unfamiliar place, maybe in the forest around Irvingly with another character (Topaz)? Or maybe she touches a portkey and ends up in some unfamiliar part of London?) and she convinces herself it was on purpose and that someone is trying to get rid of her.
- Aftermath with her family.

Maybe she could gain a weird hobby out of all of this lmao xD

We have that Grace thread we could reactivate, and I'm always down for a new Grace thread.

Percy is a neighbor so we could do something there.

Galina is always good to unintentionally cause trouble.

Of course I'm always down for Caro posts.

If she ends up getting involved with a curse Somersby is an option.

If she needs healing Malou could be used (Caro is snobbish enough to not want to go to the Irbingly Clinic but to drag Charity to London for a "proper" hospital i.e. St Mungos).
