Trauma Bonding Roulette -
Reuben Crouch - August 1, 2021
In another installment of her plot to overthrow society norms, Ophelia has devised a scheme to get a society couple isolated and out of their comfort zones.
One man & one woman will end up in a room together (perhaps thinking they were heading to a retiring room or the coat closet) with an illusion that makes it look like they've been transported somewhere else. After a few minutes, a CATASTROPHE will strike! (Since these are illusions, characters are in no actual danger, but they may not realize that). After 15 minutes the door to the room unlocks, but the illusion persists until it is opened — meaning the characters either locate the handle or are interrupted.
Ophelia's ideal candidates are as follows, but I may entertain folks who don't fit these criteria if the pairing seems amusing enough:
- MC or UC
- Good or middling rep
- unattached or courting (not married or engaged)
- Males: 25+ and either employed or heirs (ie, hurlable)
- Females: 17-25, out, not employed (ie, hurlable)
- Not previously married (female) or at least one full year out of mourning (widowers)
This is a limited thing (maybe 3-5 total couples out of a large party), so indicating interest here doesn't necessarily mean Ophelia will pick you. If she does pick you, I'll start a thread which you & your partner can tackle at your leisure. Consequences, if any, are up to you (but if you want Ophelia involved in anything blackmaily I'm open to that, so let me know!)
She's got some magic mirrors installed to watch the chaos unfold in the rooms and
November Malfoy and
Porphyria Dempsey are invited to the viewing party with her.

Alright so our chaos rooms are:
- our deserted island - Leonid & Benevolence (Kit + Dante)
- flames rise from your fingertips - Henry & Verity (Bree + Emma)
- what tangled webs we weave - Roberto & Helga (Kit + Bree)
- look upon my works, ye mighty, & despair - August & Mailou (Bean + Fallin)
- I see skies of blue - Anthony & Nicolette (Nichole + Jen)
Tag me or hit me on skype when you want ~catastrophe to occur or escalate. Other than that feel free to play around however you please, at whatever pace you like! Things to note:
- the illusions themselves cannot hurt you, though characters (& their spells) could injure each other
- victims should enter the room within a few minutes of each other, doesn't matter who goes first
- your character can have wandered in on their own or been prompted towards the door by some servant with a cover story
- the door unlocks 15 mins after the second victim enters, but you still have to find the door before you can leave (or be interrupted by a third party)
- the illusion disappears as soon as the door opens
- consequences of these threads are up to you but be advised that Ophelia & friends are spying on you
