Dear Miss Greengrass,
I had higher hopes for you after your Coming Out, but I've been so disappointed in your showing of things so far. How to you expect to ever attract a husband like that? I can see why they called you Graceless Greengrass in school.
Miss. J. Lynch
PS: Don't waste your time on Mr. [X]; he's mine! I expect an offer of courtship any day so just keep your looks to yourself!

Dear Miss Lynch,
You always seem so reserved and courteous at social events but rest assured your facade has not fooled me! I heard what you said about my sister to the gentleman you were speaking with last week at that party, and I've told her every word. I may be new to the social season but if you believe Verity to be a defenseless sort, you are mistaken — she is more clever and witty than you could ever be and if you try to muck around with her prospects again, I am quite sure she could see you ruined!
Sincerely,
Miss G. Greengrass
PS: If you try to approach me about this letter in public I shall deny it, so don't bother. Just take it as a warning from my family to yours!
