Appearance: He's of fairly average height being 4'11" but looks taller due to his lean build. He keeps his dark, curly hair somewhat short but not overly so and his eyes are dark brown. When he isn't dressed for school he dresses appropriately for his age and class. He's right handed.
History:

1877 | Nico is born. He has no memory of this event.

1879 | Zenobia is born. He doesn't remember this either.

1881 | His first display of magic, or at least the first anyone noticed. While he's playing in the garden one day a rogue ram finds its way in. He plays with it a little but it starts to get aggressive and chases him. He's terrified and manages to magic himself up a tree where he sit and cries relentlessly until the ram is gone. That same year his grandfather divorces his grandmother over a lie about blood purity but he's four years old and oblivious.

1882 | Grandfather remarries. The whole thing is very confusing, he'd believed his grandmother would come back eventually but this makes him wonder if maybe she won't…

1883 | He gets a new… uncle? His standard of uncle is Uncle Beckett, he didn't know babies could be uncles. He can tell his parents aren't happy about Sebastian, maybe they didn't realize babies could be uncles either…

1884 | And just like that his baby uncle is no more. This is Nico's first proper experience of death and at age seven he wonders if Grandma is dead too.

1885 | A swallow makes its nest above the window he sits next to during lessons. He watches it for weeks flying back and forth, perching on the window ledge every so often. He wishes he could fly away sometimes.

One day the swallow doesn't show up, nor does it show up the day after. Nico misses its visits and settles for trying to draw it. His newly found fascination with birds inspires his budding drawing skills.

1888 | His invitation to Hogwarts arrives which is very exciting indeed. He's a little nervous but for the most part he can't wait. They go shopping for his new school supplies and he doesn't let on but he's a tiny bit more excited about his new owl than his new wand. It's not in his nature to be overly boastful but he unintentionally rubs it in Zenobia's face a little after coming back from Diagon Alley with his new things. And continues to be somewhat obnoxious until he's on the Hogwarts Express. Despite his enthusiasm, on his last night at home he suddenly feels terrified and unprepared. He accidentally cries at dinner which embarrasses him so much he cries harder and he can't eat the rest of his food. He's mostly fine again in the morning. That evening he sends his new owl on her maiden voyage to happily inform his parents that he's been sorted into Ravenclaw, just like them. Also Ravenclaw is the bird house sooooo yeah he's pretty damn pleased.

Nico likes all of his classes although he shows more natural aptitude in some than he does in others. Flying was a class he was looking forward to in particular. He's not an obviously gifted flyer but his abilities improve as rapidly as his confidence.

1889 | Nico tries out for the quidditch team but fails to make the cut. He's disappointed but hardly any second years make the team anyway. That night he has a quiet little cry about it and feels a lot better in the morning, although he worries his dormmates might've heard him.

1890 | Zenobia is now old enough to go to Hogwarts and for the first time he doesn't board the train alone. He has mixed feelings about his brash little sister invading his world away from home and privately hopes she's not in Ravenclaw. He gets his wish and is relieved to see her go off to Slytherin. He admittedly feels a bit guilty about it.

With the start of his third year comes new classes. He chose Ancient Studies, Care of Magical Creatures, and… Muggle Studies. His feelings on blood purity are mixed, he knows it's important to his grandfather but he is also aware now that he's not a pureblood. He doesn’t know the full story exactly but he understands enough and he decides he wants to learn what's so bad about muggles. He doesn't dare ask his parents.

He fails to make the quidditch team again and takes it harder than last year but he doesn't cry as much.

Other: — He collects feathers and also pretty stones but he's sort of growing out of the latter.
