Fall/Winter Hogwarts Plots - Edna Shacklebolt - October 29, 2020

I told myself that I wanted to try and do more Hogwarts-centric plots this year, and I've got a good roster of students to do things with! The fall/winter ~festivities~ make themed events (and misfortunes!) much easier than they would be in the spring, which is why I present: the thread where we brainstorm winter and fall-themed mini-events or mini-plots.

Obviously in the past years we've had the enchanted mistletoe, and while it adds drama and helps ships sail every now and then, it gets respective after a while. Consider:

Corn maze — A corn maze pops up on the grounds overnight. Get lost in it and encounter magical creatures and magical objects along the way.
  • Mistlefoe — Gives the character an overwhelming urge to fight with (verbally or physically) the character they're stuck with.
  • Portkey Christmas trees — Touch one and your character ends up in a completely different area of the castle. Be prepared to wander endlessly or get stuck somewhere you shouldn't be!
  • Secret Santa(ish) — Gifts are sent out by a single mystery recipient, only they sign the gifts with names of other students. Awkward gifts lead to awkward interactions.

I absolutely suck at fall events because I usually don't celebrate the fall holidays IRL, so ideas are welcome :P

I love these ideas, but most especially the corn maze. I would love to get Sisse lost in there.

I love all these ideas and want the corn maze to be a thing as well. Also a fan of the portkeys

Portkeys IN the corn maze could also be hilarious. You're lost in there with someone, the other person touches an object, and whoosh! there goes Mildred.

Imagine a series of CYOA-style groups. Someone touches a portkey and gets transported from Group A to Group B. Everyone has to work together with clues they've gathered from the other groups to find their way out?
