To my gaming friends : HELP! -
Sisse Thompsett - October 23, 2020
So I decided to get my grandmother a xbox game for Christmas because I want to get my grandparents activities for Christmas because of quarantine. I'm running out of ideas though. I'm hoping you all may have some ideas because Google is less than helpful. Here are the games she has already played (recently) and enjoyed:
My Time at Portia
Pikmin Games
Minecraft
One of the Dragon Age games
[Edit] Stardew Valley
[Edit] Diablo III
She loves Mario, Rachet and Clank, and games like that. But isn't into RPG or things like Assasins Creed, Sims, or City builders. She also use to play Harvest Moon (similar to Animal Crossing) but hates having to be social with the town people.
I am hoping for a Mario or Rachet and Clank type adventure game but I'm not as farmiliar with Xbox products. But if you have another fun casual game that comes to mind I'll take anything.
Any ideas?

Stardew Valley is similar to Harvest Moon. I believe that's on XBox.

Oops! I knew I was forgetting a game. She finished Stardew Valley twice before 2020 even hit.

I'm NOT a gamer, but I THOROUGHLY enjoy the Lego games!

My partner recommends Monster Hunter!
(I'm equally clueless on Xbox)

Crash Bandicoot is a laugh and a half and has a similar sort of vibe to Spyro (which is also a must!) and I think you can get the original trilogy in one xbox game.

I know, at least for ps4, there was a Crash Bandicoot and Spyro bundle of all the games. I wonder if there is one for xbox! I second both of those games.

Lovely idea! I suggest -
Terraria (like Minecraft)
Yonder: Cloud Catcher Chronicles (non-violent exploration and adventure with life simulation like crafting and farming)
One of the Dragon Age games she hasn't yet played :D
Sonic Mania

Awesome suggestions. Thank you guys. Right now I'm toying with Raymen, Spyro (a bit past my budget) or Ori and the something wood.
Anyone know anything about Ori?
Also any idea of the suggestions above what would take the longest time to complete? I'm thinking Spyro because it is a trilogy. I've been eyeing the Yonder game but heard it was a fast play so not sure for gmom.

So for anyone who is wondering ... I asked her what she wanted for Christmas thinking that like any year she'd say "Nothing" and this year she asked for a specific coffee mug .... Sooooo yeah. Now she has a Starbucks mug wrapped up in the presents downstairs instead. (And yes, I already have most of our presents ordered and wrapped).
