Summer Wand Threads! -
Gideon Ollivander - June 25, 2020
Hi first-years! If you plan to shop in Hogsmeade for the upcoming school year and want a thread for your wand, I am here for you!
... that's really all I have to say about it. Start a thread and tag me, or tell me which date works best and I'll start a thread. Feel free to skype/PM me your wood/length/core preferences if you have them, or we can figure it out in thread

Hi I would loooove a wand thread for
James Fletcher, but especially if
Billie Farrow is also present to put him off >.>
/I can add to my starter list if you (both?) are up for it!

This is possibly a question for admins but do poor kids get their hands covered by the ministry? Church of magical jesus collection for disadvantaged kids? The weasleys had to make do with that they had.
Because yuri needs a wand and he hasn't got 2 farts to rub together...he is not above trying to steal one.

Xavier will fund a wand for him as well as supplies <3

Maybe some rich people donate the wands of deceased family members and they're given to poor people?
Also I'd love a thread but Andy's mom is a Muggle so they're going to London

It's a side-note really but I always imagined that while Ollivanders is the legit wand shop there are other places, possibly in Knockturn Alley, where you can get either wands from a less reputable wandmaker (they don't work so well, they don't last as long, etc.) or there's an under-the-counter understanding with places like Borgin and Burkes where they sell stolen or otherwise acquired wands.

Regarding Soph & Lauren's points, secondhand wands are totally a thing and I imagine Ollivander's would have some that are available at a discount. These would be like "certified used" electronics in these days, where they've been tested to make sure they're still working properly- no dead cores or cracked woods, no weird side effects. And then if you go get a used wand elsewhere it's more of a mixed bag and you don't know whether it'll work well or how long it'll work.
I'm very interested in Jimmy/Billie if Finn is down! And I'd love to backdate a thread for Meri if you tell me when

Dante, lmk if you want Yuri at Ollivander's (to buy or attempt to steal, lol) or elsewhere

Yeah I always figured Ollivanders did 'the best' wands, but that there were possibly even home made ones, like how you can buy excellent professionally made potions but have a go at your own.
