Which March sister is your character? - Ruby Urquart - April 26, 2020

We all love those type of threads and this time the question is, Which March sister is your character?

For those who don't know Little Women, it's the story of 4 sisters growing up in 1860-1870ish America. We have:

Meg - she's the eldest. She likes balls and pretty things and she's the most "traditionally" female of the four, because she becomes a wife and mother and likes it, whereas all of her sisters have ~artistic interests and passions.

Jo - The tomboy, the Arya Stark, etc. She wants to be a writer and she doesn't want to marry.

Beth - The sweetheart. If you don't like Beth you have no soul. She plays the piano and she is sickly. She's also the peacemaker in the household. She's shy and she doesn't have many ambitions apart from being happy with her family.

Amy - Traditionally the most disliked sister because she did some bratty things when she was 12. She's artistic and wants to become a famous artist. That being said, she's the most practical of her sisters, because she knows that she'll have to marry rich to provide for her family.

Here's mine:

Ruby is a mixture of Amy and Meg. She likes pretty things, she's artistic and she wants to become a wife and mother someday. She'd like to marry rich so she'd have nice things, but probably wouldn't actively pursue a rich husband and will likely marry for love.

Seneca - She's clearly a Beth. lolno, she's an Amy.

Cecily - I would say that she is the most like Jo because she's not really like the others. That being said, I feel like she's a bit more mellow than her. And, in spite of playing Quidditch and flying, she does like pretty dresses and other such feminine things.

Meta - is a Jo for sure.

And I did my dudes too, because why not:

Marcus - if he was a woman, he'd be a Meg most likely. He'd like beautiful dresses and good society but wouldn't really have the cold, calculated heart to go gold digging for a rich husband and he'd end up marrying someone modest for love.

Christobal - He'd be an Amy but even more aggressively a gold digger. He wouldn't really want to marry rich to provide for his family, but because he just wants to be rich and wear Worth. xD And he's also artistic too.

Zelda is a Jo lol
Camilla is a Meg
Emilia is an Amy? Probably? She is very practical.

Me, Beanie, had Jo in my top 5 in that character quiz, which absolutely tracks.

1.) Lottie is an Amy. She was actually a lot like Amy when she was a child - petted because she's the youngest, was always trying to be more mature than she actually was, concerned about being as pretty as her sisters one day, etc. Now that she's older, Lottie has grown out of her "petted" stage and her maturity has devolved into a pragmatic sense in which she knows that a good marriage could help her achieve her goals without having to rely on her parents financially.

2.) Cassia is a Beth. She's also shy and at the moment doesn't have too many ambitions (that she knows of yet though Miri has ~plans~) besides getting through school and focusing on her friends and family. She's also inadvertently become the peacemaker between Cordelia and the people Cora has upset. xD

3.) Veronica is a mixture between Meg and Beth. Like Meg, Veronica might have once had childhood dreams but they were just that - childhood dreams, so when she grew up she became a wife and mother because she knew that that's where her strengths lied. Unlike Meg, however, and more similarly to Beth, she does not like being the center of attention and enjoys being at home.

I've admittedly never seen Little Woman so my evaluations are based solely on Soph's descriptions >.>

Bella is a Jo, I guess. Probably with a little Amy in her.

Chairty is probably going to be a Meg. Who knows, she's 8 >.>

Dionisia is also a Jo.

Flora is a Meg.

Frida is a Beth with some Meg in her.

Helga is an Amy.

Hortense is a Meg.

Orinda is 100% a Jo.
