Real Life 'Charming' -
Ginevra Blackwood - March 30, 2020
Since we've been in quarantine I've been stuck in my parents house for like 3 weeks and helping dad with some geneaology stuff. And Soph and I were discussing how on earth our ancesters manged to attract mates given how our appearance are just not the Victorian ideal.
So here are my relatives who would have been around in the Charming verse!
This picture is from about 1850.
My great great great great grandmother was a stone cold BENCH.
She had 13 children, 8 survived to adult hood - after the death of one of them she picked her 3 favourites and had a picture taken with them. They are all still in full mourning (girls under 16 wore white in mourning but with a black ribbon). Her husband was still alive but he didn't make the cut for the picture
The taller girl is only 15 here! (She looks hella older). The black thing on the left of her dress is her mourning pin. We still have one of them it has a locket which contains hair of one of their siblings.
This is my great great grandfather, My dads great grandfather. He looks uncannily like my dad when he was a kid! His name is Hugh Quinn, there are so many Hughs in my family, all of this guys brothers were Hugh (random middle name) and his father was called Hugh. The name Hugh in our family can be traced back to about 1720 for the first one, thats as far back as we've gone.
My Dad, Grandad, brother and now my son are all called Hugh.
My Great great Grandfather from my mothers side circa 1890 -He is imo pretty good looking.
She was punching above her weight in the looks department -my mum has that nose! I missed it thank goodness!
Anyone else got old family pics?
