Corruption - Cecily Gallivan - March 27, 2020

27th of March, 1890
Mr. Prewett,

I send this letter to you, because I highly suspect that one of your referees allows for his judgement to be clouded. I am referring to Mr. Mahdi Elrashidy. I realize that you likely receive tons of such complainst per day, especially from Quidditch sponsors, or those related to them. It is true, that when we care so much for a team, we tend to have a mother's bias on the referees' decisions. However, I have reason to believe that Mr. Elrashidy is biased in favour of the Holyhead Harpies!

It occured to me, during a Cannons game, that he was harsh towards our beaters, but, when one of the Harpies' beaters made a foul, she only received a yellow card, whereas our beater was benched, when he made a similar foul. Out of curiousity, I decided to attend other Harpy games where I knew he would be the referee and it seemed to be like he was softer on them, than the other team!

I realize again that you probably receive a lot of letters of complaints about the Holyhead Harpies. I have nothing against the team, having played Quidditch at Hogwarts myself. I believe that it is brilliant that there is a team where women can play Quidditch, when most other teams won't give women opportunities. However, I do believe that it is wrong for them to receive special treatment, because they are a different team. And, especially after the recent scandal with the Harpies, I hate to imagine that more of their players might be using their feminine charm to get ahead on the pitch.

It does not hurt to investigate Mr. Elrashidy's case.

With regards,
Cecily Gallivan
