The Kansas City Shuffle - Thom Pettigrew - March 26, 2020

So recently I had to come up with some mechanism to force Thom and Ursula to talk to each other for a thread, which lead me to invent a vague wizarding card game that involves playing against one other person and shuffling from one table to the next every few minutes.

This has since struck me as a super fun dynamic and I'd like to actually have a thread like this that has short conversations and regular rotations - like speed dating sort of but without the dating aspect, necessarily xD

My vision for how this would work is:
- people sign up characters
- I put them all in a list and separate them into group a/group b.
- group a starts threads which group b joins
- after 3 posts from each character, everyone in group b switches threads (which can be done whenever the next thread is ready for you, not like, on a certain timeline or anything)
- IC this all happens at some generic party (so respectable-ish MC/UC folks)


Benefits for you:
- It's pretty low effort interaction and you don't have to think of ways to start threads
- Your character gets to meet people IC and maybe discover dynamics you otherwise wouldn't have
- If two characters have literally nothing to say to each other you get to awkwardly glare for three posts!

I'd use Ophelia, Thom, or Emrys - probably just one or two but I'd pick to even out whatever the eventual group ends up being.

Once both players have made three posts of any length, your round is up and the player in Group B should move to the thread above them. You do have to wait for the thread you're moving into to be ready for you to join but don't need to wait on your first round to finish - so, for example:

Kayte starts a thread for Aldous and Diana but then is eaten alive by her moving troubles, so posting is slow going. Meanwhile, Roman and Natsuko are finished with their round. Diana can join Roman and have both threads going simultaneously. If Seraphina is done and wants to move on to Aldous' table, though, she's SOL until it's free.

Ping me with questions but otherwise have at it <3 I tried to stagger things so you aren't threadding with the same player repeatedly and no one should be threadding with themselves at any point xD
