August had attempted several versions of the letter over several days since he had heard before he finally sent one, thinking that some words were better than one even if they were not perfect.
Mrs. Melody Crouch,
Please forgive me for not writing sooner. Are you all right?
There are no apologies necessary. My actions caused a bit of a shock all around.
Yes, I'm alright. Mr. Crouch and I are currently honeymooning in Paris, we'll likely be back sometime in early April. Though, I don't expect to be invited to any events of the same caliber anymore. You'll have to devise your own plans for excitement, I'm afraid.* I hope you'll forgive me for it.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Melody Crouch

Perhaps once Reuben and I are settled we can extend an invitation for dinner. It's always easier to converse in quieter settings, or so I've found anyway.
Forgive my delay in response. Reuben and I returned home a few days ago only to get caught up with Easter and the picnic. If you're still willing to come for dinner April XXth* works best for us. I hope you had a nice holiday.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Melody Crouch
*Lynn has a bunch of Ben stuff planned. Need to check the dates
