I cannot begin to apologize enough for what I'm about to tell you. Something wild has come over me and I don't know how to describe it, especially to you, because I would never wish to hurt you, but I fear I will do exactly that.
I've met someone or- well, I've come to know my heart better and we've eloped. It was never my intention to do this to you, because you have been nothing but good to me and I care deeply for you, but when you find the one, you just do. I hope she's out there somewhere and that someday you find this happiness. You deserve that and so much more. I'm so sorry.
Miss Moreno,
You could at least have the decency to return my mother's ring.

Something's gone terribly wrong. I am so sorry, please let me explain it in person. I wasn't myself, I need to talk to you, please?
Miss Moreno,
Judging by your letter, you are more yourself than you have been in months. I will not arrange to meet with you as you have caused me great offence, though would hardly be so ungallant as to throw you from the shop if you arrived there.
