It's Time To Grow - Argus Scrimgeour - October 7, 2018

September 10th, 1888
Araminta Scrimgeour,

I write this in fear I shall not see you again.

My health is ailing and I wish to do my best to make things right.

I hope what has transpired in recent months has not hindered you socially and if it has, I am sorry.

I have not been the best father to you, Julius, or your sister. And I have been a worse husband still.

My darling Araminta, please continue to grow into the woman I know you to be. I'm not sure what else to say. You shall create your own family and in time, I hope you remember me fondly though I do understand if you are unable. I have done so many wrongs in my life that finding the words to describe what I have done is an impossibility.

Stay well and I hope you write me soon.

Your father,
Argus Scrimgeour

— Father,—

While my social life has been completely destroyed, the silence of the country side has been nice. It is at least nicer than being judged and mistaken for my sister wherever I go.

After months of reflecting I have come to realize that our current situation isn’t completely your fault and more or less Anabelle has been begging for her downfall. I think the only wrong you’ve done was to not accept her as her. That see her tainted by the muggles that took her rather than your own flesh and blood. While you might not have been the best father to my sister, you did our best to raise me well. I can’t boast that you were a warm and kind father but you raised be in your own way.

With that being said, I shall write to the asylum to get permission to see you I they would allow it. Julius and Anabelle might not be inclined to come with me. I am not completely merciless to not care about my ill father.

Your daughter,
— Miss Araminta Scrimgeour—

Araminta Scrimgeour,

Reading your letter brought a smile to the face of this foolish man, my darling child.

I do not think you are allowed to visit. It is part of the conditions and why I was allowed such a lenient sentence though I suspect, I shall not be able to see this sentence end. I grow weaker each day and I cannot write your mother; it pains me so.

I know not what more I can say beyond express my love for you, Araminta. You are everything I have hoped for in my daughter and more.

Take heed when I say I am proud of you and wish you only the best life.

Your father,
Argus Scrimgeour
