George has always been on the shorter side, and—much to his dismay—never managed to catch his older brother in height. Many of his insecurities have been blamed on his height (five feet, five inches tall on the dot!) and his other plain features, and he swears that he'd be much smoother and much more charming if his genes had been a little kinder. He seems to have retained his childlike, chipper attitude along with his softer features: a bright smile, full cheeks, a soft jawline, and expressive brows.History:
He dresses appropriate to his station—stylish, even—and often uses his family's wealth to compensate for his otherwise plain appearance. He's inherited the Carmichael dark hair and has equally-dark eyes. He wields his wand with his left hand, though having been trained to use his right, he can often be caught fumbling between hands when casting a spell on the spot. He has a resting smile and has been describe as "approachable".
Personality:Youth
1866 | George is born as the third (and final!) child to Brandon and Elizabeth Carmichael at their home in Wales. A generally easygoing babe, the most his parents have to worry about is the occasional screaming fit and coughs that never turn into anything serious.
1869 | A seemingly random first sign of magic sees the three-year-old trapped in the kitchen pantry. Later it is revealed that a bickering match between nanny and toddler led to little George being denied a cookie. He got what he wanted in the end, as well as a three-hour stay in complete darkness.
1870 | September sees Elliot board the Hogwarts Express. At his young age, George does not really feel the absence; he does, however, notice that Ginny expresses her desire to see their eldest sibling again.
1874 | Ginny goes off to Hogwarts and is sorted into Slytherin. At eight-years-old, the jealousy of seeing yet another sibling board the train leaves George feeling jealous, lonely, and oftentimes impatient; he cannot wait to explore the wonders of his word and wield a wand.
1877 | His brother joins him back at home after graduating in the spring, though admittedly there's only so much an eleven-year-old and recent Hogwarts graduate can discuss.
Hogwarts Years
1878 | He leaves for Hogwarts as his brother finds himself a position in the Ministry, meaning he no longer has to suffer lonely days at home. He's quickly sorted into Hufflepuff—unlike Elliott and Ginny, who found themselves in Slytherin and Ravenclaw respectively—and finds himself right at home. A friendly (if not slightly impatient) boy, it does not take very long for him to make friends with the other agreeable first years, his friend group often expanding beyond his social class.
1879 | The summer between his first and second year is one he will not soon forget. Ginny returns home one evening after being bitten by a werewolf, and on top of that, twelve-year-old George is forced to make an Unbreakable Vow not to willfully reveal his sister's condition. For a child who already struggles to hold his tongue when he wants to, the prospect of dying for speaking too much is terrifying. Seriously. He returns to school a little less chatty and a little more reserved.
1880 | George adds Care of Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, and Earth Magic to his course load.
1883 | He sits for his OWL examinations in the spring and receives his scores later in the summer. Fortunately for him, a set of scores consisting mostly of 'Exceeds Expectations' allows him to tailor his schedule to his exact needs—namely, his recent decision to pursue a healing career after graduating. His brother joins him at Hogwarts in September as professor (but, much to his relief, not as one of his own).
Spring, 1885 | He graduates from Hogwarts after taking his NEWT examinations. While it matters little to him, many of his classmates are dismayed when the Coming Out Ball is canceled.
Adulthood
Summer, 1885 | Immediately after graduation, George pursues an internship in St. Mungo's in the Creature-Induced Injuries ward. His career allows him to burn off his energy while also teaching him how to pay more careful attention to detail. He all-around finds it enjoyable, save for the anguish he feels after watching patients die from their injuries.
Autumn, 1885 | Nothing good can ever come from having a secret werewolf in the family; he always knew this, but never had the courage to say as much. He pays for his cowardliness when he (along with Elliott) is enlisted to help dispose of a maid's body after Ginny accidentally murders her. The whole incident has him glancing over his shoulder whenever in a public place. He is completely unamused.
1886 | Despite becoming a full healer in the Creature-Induced Injuries ward, he has not yet figured out how to cure his own creature-induced injury: the emotional scars cased by his werewolf of a sister.
1887 | For someone who is not a werewolf himself, he sure thinks about werewolves a lot—and this is only worsened when the Minister's daughter is revealed to be one. The election comes, and George remains politically neutral and does not even participate in the voting. Apparently some ~drama~ takes place between his superior, Sydney Podmore, and Ginny, leaving him feeling awkward both at home and at work.
1888 | Fog shit. Luckily living in Wales means not having to deal with much of that drama.
Other:HELPFUL. FRIENDLY. CAUTIOUS. IMPATIENT. REALIST. DOUBTFUL. ROMANTIC.
