Vampire Polyjuice? -

Back with another zinger.
Does polyjuice work on vampires?
A few schools of thought that made it out of the chat:
- yes, but with limitations. It can’t change the species, so while appearance only would change, everything else remains. (Dietary restrictions, sun sensitivity, etc.)
- no, because they’re beings not humans. (But mom, they’re humanoid, why doesn’t that count?)
And some follow ups because it feels relevant:
- If it doesn’t work on beings, then does it work on squibs and muggles? Technically they’re all human/humanoid but only witches and wizards have magic. And unlike other beings, vampires were human so are thus the most human-like. So what is the real distinction here?
- If it does work on vampires, does it rid them of their fangs cosmetically only? Are whoever’s canines they shift into still lethal because they’re vampires or blunted because they are visually human?
The serious questions in life lol.
(Also, this is a staff question not a theoretical one and a yes or no answer would be great lol. I need to decide if Gilbert is going to polyjuice for NYE and have no particular preference yet. Just curious on if it’s possible in Charming canon.)
P.S. - Does it work on half-breeds???? I’ve always assumed yes but may have to retcon if not lol whoops.

Hello! We've discussed and since vampires are now a different
species, polyjuice wouldn't work on them or on other beings - picture the unpredictable negative results of Hermione being a cat-person for days at a time, but with various other qualities instead of fur/whiskers. Squibs and muggles can use polyjuice potion but cannot brew it, because they are human.
If you want to yap about other potential disguises for Gilbert though hit me up! :)

I have no strong feelings here tbh but I think this contradicts previous site happenings. At least, I remember having to deal with Alfred looking like a vampire in some mini-SWP but don't recall if that was polyjuice at its root or something else.
