My darling Gideon,
You may have heard of some danger in Irvingly. I do not have an abundance of information on the matter, so am ill-poised to answer any questions. I did wish, however, to make sure that you know that your sister and I are safe and well (the governess, too!). We will be staying at your Grandmama's until the matter is resolved. I do not wish for you to worry unnecessarily.
